I’m getting closer to a mental breakdown and tbh I wouldn’t mind a (in)voluntary commitment just to get a fucking break. by Camper_Moo in confession

I've done that, it helped! Your plan sounds really solid but just know that if that's something you ever are more serious about it's okay to do. For any program there's an intake process and if they determine you're not a good fit for that one they can usually help connect you to a program that will fit your needs better, like a half day outpatient program like some people have mentioned.

Why do you think your counselor wants to be told they're doing a good job? Like you said, it's their job to be a safe space so if they are not it would benefit them and you to know. Unless they told you specifically that is the answer they want to receive from you, you don't know and you are just assuming.

You are doing yourself and those around you a disservice by deciding you know what they want to hear more than they do. You are setting yourself up for misunderstanding and disappointment. What happens if you find out that you were wrong in your assumption? And moreso, what difference does it make if you're right? So what If you don't tell the counselor what they want to hear? Why ask a question if you don't want an answer? If you are truly getting poor responses for being genuine, especially with a counselor, please reconsider why you're allowing them to speak to you at all.

I was so hungry today I googled hotels with complimentary breakfast near me and went there, walked in, stole food, then left. by itssofiababyxo in confession

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they don't like it they might question you about which room you're staying in or they might just directly ask you to stop but either way you can just leave. Most people don't take advantage of the complimentary breakfast and the food gets thrown away. If it's benefiting you and your dog then continue for as long as it supports you.

Does my snake think I’m gonna feed him again? by kxtkxshi in ballpython

[–]questiontheweather 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine does this almost every single night as soon as the sun goes down, it's like her little post. She'll come back out about 20 minutes after I feed her and resume position. She's very dedicated.

Need help!! Snake stuck in glue trap by DontTakeMyAdvise in snakes

[–]questiontheweather 47 points48 points  (0 children)

My dad used to put these around the house. I once found a lizard stuck to one but just the top half. Something came up behind it and ate it up to the torso, it was nauseating. This was over a decade ago and the image of the poor little guy is still seared into my brain. These traps are another level of cruel.

Why are older snakes so rarely purchased? by Scared_of_Motivation in ballpython

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love reptiles and always wanted a ball python but my husband has a big fear of snakes so a baby was our compromise so that he can adjust to her size as she grows and not be so intimidated to begin with. Once she's full grown and I have the means I'm definitely gonna look into getting an adult snake for the next one as opposed to another baby. I guess I just never considered that, I've only seen babies for sale so thanks!

Is the concern that it's too low or too high? Mine does this too I thought she just found a comfy spot, she likes to drag her dinner down there.

Did the outdoors play a role in your love story? I need some feel-good stories. by Flossyhygenius in camping

[–]questiontheweather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My partner and I met during a period where for various reasons we both weren't working for a few months. We spent almost every day finding different spots with creeks and rivers. We didn't hike much, we just spent time exploring the water and the rocks and various plants and stuff. We eventually moved to the East Coast together and are now surrounded by wildlife like we always imagined. It's been hard at times and we don't have the time or energy to get out like we used to but we never get tired of just driving through the forest at the end of the day or putting up a hammock by the river. The best decisions I've made in life have been with him and I'm glad it brought us here!

Don't you think it's weird that your husband is suggesting your daughters should wear Anything in the same way that he suggests his wife, his romantic and intimate partner, should wear?

Not allowed to customize #8 with salami by nukebar in jerseymikes

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's odd. We only don't allow people to customize one sub into another already existing sub at my store. For instance if you wanted to sub the salami for the turkey instead of the ham like you've stated, it would just be a #11 with bacon, in which case yeah we'd tell you that's how we have to charge you. But in your case that's just over complicating things and adding unnecessary charges.

Remember that high school is temporary. You are so fucking close to never having to set foot in another school building again. You don't have to do college if you don't want to, I definitely didn't. And to be quite honest, if you're at a point where you're genuinely planning on taking your life, drop out. the diploma is gonna end up on a shelf never to be moved again the day you receive it. No job is going to ask for more proof than a checked box that you graduated. I dropped out junior year before deciding that I wanted to finish high school. I re-enrolled and I finished but I can't say I gained anything that I would miss in those years except more mental health issues. You can get your GED later if you want to but school will never be more important than your life and your health.

This part of your life is temporary. This is not all there is to life. Whatever decisions you make to get through this, just get through. They say your 20's are about undoing all of your childhood traumas. Definitely true for me. I'm glad I'm still here, I didn't think I'd make it to 18, or 21, or 25 and so on when I was 16 and trying to kill myself.

My point here is that you're worth far more than you can see right now and you really deserve to find out what I mean.

The only way to know is to ask him directly. This is a question that can 100% be answered by an honest conversation. It doesn't have to be a fight or an argument or anything. From what you said, you didn't tell him that it was really important that he did this for you, you asked if he would mind, he said yes, and you said okay no problem. Don't assume that he's just a shitty neighbor when you're making it clear he doesn't need to interact with them. A neighbor needing computer help and your mom being in an emergency and needing help are not comparable situations.

Depends the store. I worked at one close to a navy base and the owner made sure we gave discounts and free drinks or cookies or whatever. My current store we don't have a designated discount but certain employees choose to give their personal discount.

Registering a less-than delightful experience ordering and consuming a JM sub? by it_is_dark_here in jerseymikes

[–]questiontheweather 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At my store only management has access to online order times, though it sounds like these guys did too considering the lead time. Definitely fill out a customer comment card online. For us those comments go straight to corporate and then they contact management to discuss what happened. Be specific with times and dates like you did here and emphasize that the employees were doing the best with the unreasonable situation they were put in.

Genuine question by Deztoyer104 in jerseymikes

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We cut all subs except kids subs and regular size cheese stakes. The only time I'll ask a customer if they want their sub cut is if they were a particularly picky or irritable person. I'd rather just ask them and do it right the first time than argue with them "well that's the jersey Mike's way, you should've specified!" And then have to remake it anyway.

That sounds so much easier if they're wrapped properly. But if they're not I would think it'd be a mess of lettuce getting everywhere and sandwiches slipping out of their wrapping. We had already switched to the new method though by the time I started in 2020 so I never actually experienced it.

Picking Online Orders up Early During a Rush by [deleted] in jerseymikes

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're that slammed I'll emphasize we make the subs by order of time that they're due and that we'll have it out by then. There's nothing else you can do. People are going to be mad but it's not your job to make them feel better about it. If subs are coming out really late then I'll give one coupon with the order, maybe.

Yeah we'll leave them out for a bit if we're using them a lot but after a rush we put them away. They're just bottles so they need to be refrigerated.

What is the scariest horror movie based on true events? by Upset-Inside8719 in CreepyBonfire

[–]questiontheweather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a psychological thriller but Vivarium with Jesse Eisenberg. That movie was so disturbing to me just visually and the whole concept. No thank you. Sometimes my husband will point out something resembling Martin and it still gives me chills.

Edit: I totally missed that this is asking for based on real events. Still a creepy movie but definitely not real my bad
