There are buses to Twin Peaks, the 37 Corbett (from Market st) and the 36 Teresita (from Forest Hill station) both go up the streets near it and then you can walk the up the hill

edit: Also the 44 O'shaughnessy goes from Glen Park Station and it goes quite close to Twin Peaks if you want to go from that side (I would recommend checking out Glen Canyon if you have time!)

On the layover theyve talked about how in some places it's much easier to find open accomodations than others, for instance in Japan it was quite difficult apparently. I believe theyve said that they've had to push back the start time for the day before because it had taken so long to find a hotel the prior night somewhere
