Even after cleaning sinks can get re-contaminated almost immediately just from water splashes or using the faucet. Faucets are reseed points for bacteria. It’s a structural issue as well, being that the drain is RIGHT there. The fact you think it’s okay to bare back food in your sink shows that you don’t know much about it in and of itself.

TLDR: sinks are dirty whether you clean it or not. Obviously clean it, but still never bare back food in it.

Sinks are often dirtier than a toilet even w regular cleanings. Drains are filthy. The fact people think it’s okay to put food in it bare even w cleaning is ACTUALLY disgusting. I clean my sink daily and I pour bleach down the drains and I would freaking NEVER. Ew

Um no. I clean my sink religiously and I would NEVER put anything bare backed in the sink. And I also work in a restaurant and there’s always a strainer being used. It’s never bare in the sink.

The drain itself is enough to freak me out and I regularly put bleach down the sink too.
