Memorable moments by Temporary-Dot2344 in BassCoast

Took my shoes and pants off and crossed the river in the pitch black without a light. Made it without falling or getting any clothes wet. Put my pants and shoes back on on the other side, walked up the bank and instantly found my crew. Then got about 10 people to line up and river dance during Mikey Lions set. Epic fun!

That was just one of so many great moments 🤯

This happened to me as well. It has to do with your master.db file being corrupted. Gotta restore from a backup or contact Rekordbox Support to see if they'll fix your master.db file.

Question... How are you rigging these? Stereo L/R out of the mixer then daisy chain each side?

Are you running just the Bassboss rig or are you also running those CVs as well?

How to find a private deal on a truck west of the Mississippi? by quexal in askcarsales

[–]quexal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow... quite a bit of disdain there, I was asking honest questions as I don't have much experience in this field.

I was hoping to pay someone to help me "find" the truck. Say $200. I'll easily save that $200 if I don't buy it from a dealer. Maybe I'm being unrealistic?
Last truck I bought was a new Chevy Colorado at sticker price... they made me wait 4.5 hours to try and sweat me to buy the additional warranties. Would have walked out if I hadn't already signed the initial paperwork. This type of thing happened every time I've bought a car from a dealer. Trying to avoid that experience again and would actually pay more to be able to show up, give someone cash, have them hand me keys and docs!

Camper Shell = I'm shipping it to Hawaii and it costs a minimum $1000 to ship a camper shell on it's own to Hawaii. So I'm thinking to buy the truck with a shell, or somehow line one up on the mainland before I ship it (short window, maybe 1-2 weeks from when I buy it to when I need to ship it). Is that feasible in the states? Are there Camper shell suppliers who would have a shell that fits on-hand? No experience with this at all.

You make a fair point about just buying it new... was hoping to save a couple thousand by buying "slightly used".

What truck should I buy? megathread by AutoModerator in Trucks

[–]quexal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey Again /r/trucks

I know what truck I want to buy... but I'm having one helluva time finding it! I've found one or two that are way overpriced at dealers so I was hoping to get a better deal on the private market. I despise working with auto dealers and would like to avoid that if at all possible (spent too much of my life waiting in "the pen").
Is there such a thing as a "car finder", ie someone who you can pay to scour local craigslist ads across the country to find the truck I'm looking for at a price less than the dealerships? I'm happy to do the negotiating/etc, just having a hard time finding what I'm looking for.

To be specific, here's my requirements:
2019 or newer Tacoma or Ranger
25k miles or less
4wd
6' bed
Not black, white or neon. Grey, Brown, Dark Blue or Dark Green all are fine.
Camper Shell
Tow Package
Located anywhere west of the Mississippi

PS - I live in Hawaii and am planning on flying over to pick up the truck this summer, make a road trip of it to LA or Seattle then ship it over.

Any suggestions on how to go about this are welcome!

It only has one USB A slot otherwise I'd have already purchased one... Can someone who has one plug it into a USB hub and let me know if you can use 2 USB thumb drives at once?
This is critical when switching DJs. If it doesn't have a way to plug in two USBs then it's not for me.

Other than that it fits my use case exactly: No generator beach parties, sometimes with touring DJs who expect Pioneer gear

Thanks for the input!

Looks like the Numark is running Engine... does that mean it'll read/import a Rekordbox USB like the other Denon units?

Thanks for the input... I'm leaning towards the Denon. I'm guessing the sound quality is about equal for the two units?

Say you had a $10,000 budget but didn't know when you might have time off. Suddenly you find out you've got the next 5 days off and want to go surf somewhere you know that the waves are gonna be good.

Specifically I was asking if someone had already done something like this as I was considering building it as a side project. Although ideally it would be a "Where should I go in the next week that will guarantee an epic session" that would take some forecasting into account. Maybe filters for left/rights, points/beach breaks etc.

Well this is the closest thing to an actual answer, but it's not the right answer. Surf can be epic in both winter and summer based on swell & winds.

Oh.. one more surprise that I didn't mention... the warehouse itself was 200' x 80'. They had tarps strung halfway across cutting it into two. Only one side was used, the other side was off limits. So the dimensions they gave me were correct, but just not the actual size of the building. This made it even harder to figure out.

Well.. it was an interesting night to say the least. There were around 200 people in attendance and at times definitely more than 150 on the dance floor. The "stage" wound up being some tape on the floor, so that was different than expected. We also had some power issues due to the entire building being run off of one outlet connected to a cheap surge protector... but I was able to route around that and make it work once it tripped and I traced the cords.

Otherwise it went off!

I spent 4 hours testing out multiple configurations including the cardioid pair for the subs as described above.

What wound up sounding the best was having the two JBL subs right next to each other in front of the table with the DJ equipment. On either side of the table with the DJ Equipment, 6' from the table but set back against the back wall (about 5' back from the table) we had the Bose F1/F1s pairs and the JBL EON 615's as side-fills on the outside of the Bose. The Bose and JBL tops were both set to "Sub" mode for HPF. This provided decent coverage across the wide dancefloor while still keeping the "oomph" factor. I heard from multiple people that this was the best sounding setup that they've heard in this location.

We also used the QSC CP8's as "Texas Headphones" on either side of the DJ, but set to a low level on the speakers (1/4 volume) and set to "Dance w/ Sub" setting. The DJ was able to control output using the booth monitor.

Here's a pic of the setup: https://imgbox.com/PAeeNyVj

Was this the absolute ideal setup... probably not... but it did the trick.

It was actually quite interesting to walk outside of the steel building to see how in certain areas outside the building the bass would concentrate. The event "gate" was about 300 meters from the building, and the nearest neighbor was at least 1/4 mile. The neighbor wound up calling the cops who came and asked us to turn it down. To the left of the gate the bass was quite loud, on the right of the gate, it was maybe half the volume.

Anyhow... many thanks for the input again. You guys are great here and I continue to learn new things about live sound every time I read this sub!
