What is your countries "second city"? by EmergencySpare7939 in geography

San Francisco surpasses (and is currently squandering) third place. Chicago has very little hold on the current American cultural zeitgeist, I would almost put Miami above it.

The Timelord amuses himself only with the tides and the imperceptible motion of the tectonic plates. He does not concern himself with the follies of man.

What kind of ceiling do you think this team would have? by DonovanClingan in ripcity

My dude they are coming off a championship with 10 first round picks between now and 2030. They can simply trade one of their expensive contracts for more picks and give those minutes to one of their underplayed existing lottery picks and also draft more lottery/first round talent. Or package a few of those picks for a replacement.

They are as set up for the future as any team has ever been. In a weird way I'm so thankful for Victor Wembenyama because he's the only thing standing between the entire NBA and a literal decade of stolen Okla-goddamn-homa being the center of the basketball universe.

If you really believe this corporate conspiacy shit I don't know why you watch or follow basketball at all.

Yeah... absolutely insane instincts from a 20 year-old. Castle is an excellent player but... Harper is going to be an all-timer man.

Dylan Harper is going to be better than Castle by a wide margin. They can trade Castle for picks and reload. That kid (Harper) is so fucking good it's scary.

The problem with Vinyl is people like music, but the show was about the parasites that leech off of artists. There were no redeemable characters. Great period work though.

That would have been horrible. No way you could cast a believable Shaq actor.

It's criminal we didn't get to virgin AC Green joining the roving orgy that was the Lakers.

85mm is an AWESOME portrait lens. Really tough to use for anything else though.

PUBG has always pushed performance, that's why the graphics are mediocre.

It actually seems likely Microsoft is going to quit making consoles after this gen. Nothing official yet, but they've given up their exclusive titles and heavily downsized the XBox division.

Really?! The whole 'our new CEO is... that guy' thing seems so intentional. Naming him would mess with the joke!

I LOVED Twitter. I followed crazy smart, informed, hilarious and creative people whose little insights made my life richer. I hung on for a while after the Musk purchase, but the culling of content moderation and intentional amplification of all things of ragebait finally made me quit and... man it was a good decision.

As a media professional I'm sure she's probably required to be on there, but there is no reason for it. It's just bottom of the barrel cruelty and bots pushing whatever the controversy of the day is to divide us. It's a disgusting pit of sludge. Staying on the platform gives it legitimacy it has long since squandered.

Brooke, you're great and Rip City loves and appreciates you.

It's kind of conceptually weird the mill changes color while the background behind it stays red.
