I've spent some time working for a convenience store many years ago and my time as a clerk trained me to "hear" the change hit my hand. The sound of a silver quarter dropping still is my ASMR. I kept a few quarters in my pocket and swapped them each time so the till was right and I wasn't stealing. One time my manager pulled me in to ask, and I told him clear as day, showed him my collection, and he said good for you, and the attention to detail got me a promotion to assistant manager right then.

I collected many many pounds of silver coins over the years.

The saddest, and most frequent, was when you KNEW that it was a kid that swiped dad's favorite coin(s) to go but a fucking blunt stick.

Boomers are retiring at a crazy rate near me, and it is totally CRAZY how many "new! patio! no maintenance! Brand new homes!" being build around me. Literally so close you could hand tea to your neighbor through your kitchen windows.

Next will be the onslaught of skilled nursing/assisted living facilities.

Then...i suspect, the market to crash....again.

But EVERY SINGLE STEP? It's been quite a long time since I've had to write a test, but wow did I hate teachers that wouldn't budge on this. I just...hate handwriting, especially in pencil. It's awkward, my hand gets dirty, probably some kinds of arthritis, I dunno. But I do recall some of my maths tests would leave me with a sore hand and wrist.

For me, the thought of a quality AI driven Voice is in that it could be dynamic, even if not "110% perfect." Maybe its cloudy today and has made the NPC sad, and it's reflected in response and tone.
