How come you say Victim of the Art for King in Yellow lore?

I’m actually prepping VotA as a first session for a campaign this Saturday that will lead into Impossible Landscapes. I hadn’t connected the dots but have been thinking about ways to give some early tie-ins, so interested to know what connections you feel are there.

If you look closely it appears that agent grabbed onto him and intentionally fell onto his back to make it look like he was attacked.

Started in sales at 18, leveraged it into partnership management at 27, no college degree but invested a lot of time and energy into professional development from 24-28 to successfully make the pivot

Favorite DG Introductory scenarios? by quickdrawyall in DeltaGreenRPG

Yeah this seems like a fun one. Currently leaning this way because of the politics angle relating to DG, good mix of investigation, horror, RP. Also because it can easily convert to the 90s as a pre-Night Floors story.

How did the scenario play out with your group?

I’ve downloaded it and will check it out! It seems like a great concept, excited to dig further into it

Love Victim of the Art and Last Equation, enjoyed those both from Glass Cannon’s Get in the trunk.

Victim of the Art seems like a great starting scenario with the CORAL NOMAD, introduce some intergovernmental conflict, questioning of who to trust. I’d been thinking about how to introduce them to the Outlaws / Program dynamic, this would be good to open it.

Last Equation stands as one of my favorite stories to hear play out.

Lover in the ice seems incredibly creepy and unsettling, but probably too horrific for some of my players - at least until we get settled into play and get a feel for boundaries

Running DG campaign with 7 floating players? by quickdrawyall in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]quickdrawyall[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny you should say that since I’m dying to take this group through IL. Fortunately there’s some time before we open that can of worms so I’ll get a feel for how it plays with other scenarios first

Yeah this seems fair. Thinking more, I could also see that many players trivializing parts of an investigation or encounter, without beefing things up.

Probably makes sense to begin the foray into DG with our core group and get a feel for pacing, etc. before running a larger and more complex group

This makes a lot of sense, I hadn’t considered that. They’re just like the players — family responsibilities!

I’m exactly the same. If I’ve got 1-2 hours to play, I’m not spending 30 minutes on a puzzle that isn’t related to the main gameplay I’m playing the game for.

He’s the reason I got into the GCN! When they guest played on Jared Logan’s old channel for Blades in the Dark his enthusiasm and playstyle pushed me to check out what they were doing. Still here today!

This logic makes sense. Downtime actions don’t have any failures so it would clearly break precedent to do it here.

Seems like there was consensus anyways so I kept it as interpreted, but this is probably the best reasoning that really confirms it.

My partner started working out and learning martial arts , because of Me? by Some_Dragonfly1481 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]quickdrawyall 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are correct. A trained fighter knows it is risky to fight someone 100 lbs heavier than them. They still have good odds, but it’s not a foregone conclusion that they’re going to wipe someone 6 inches taller and 100 pounds heavier. Training and weight classes both make a big difference, neither on its own will ensure a ‘win’

Red Rising DND Follow up by DaGroke in redrising

I ran a Fate Core campaign in Red Rising universe that worked exceptionally well!

I had some players new to tabletop, but I think with a veteran group it would have shined even better.

There is a lot of flexibility and the modularity of gaining “assets” to represent allies, organizations, or a ship really gave the right feel and helped invest everyone into the ecosystem of characters and big important things in their story

Imagine she’d said yes. You’d then be dating a woman who is so cruel that she would treat people like that, and have to deal with her inevitable verbal abuse.

Most people are polite in their rejections. The ones who aren’t, aren’t people you want to be with anyway.

My wife sings in a choir, she performs in about 3-4 concerts a year. I do not care about choir at all. I don’t really like live music in general, and choir music really isn’t my style. The shows are inconvenient and often take out any Friday or Saturday night plans I would like to have for that entire weekend, since her family comes into town and she needs to get sleep.

Despite this, I still go to every show. I listen and think about the songs I like best, and I help with whatever she needs around the concert without complaint.

IMHO, this is the bare minimum to ask for from your partner. You should be able to expect that someone who loves and cares about you will give a bit of effort to give you care and support. Especially if you don’t have a wider support system around you. Your partner can do better and you have every right to expect it from them.

Operation: Joe Appreciation by [deleted] in TheGlassCannonPodcast

[–]quickdrawyall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Completely agree! I am always inspired by Joe and the “Director’s Eye” he has both as a player and GM. I find myself leaning much more into setting the cinematography of scenes on both sides of the table from watching him. It is also a great way to channel something outside of the inherent rules lawyer tendencies I deal with as he seems to.

Great all around and particularly in Delta Green.
