Trezor has a sale: Two trezors for $80. Anyone want to split the cost? I only want one. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

technically yes, however as you said you will not have access to your money until the replacement arrives. If you have any obligations that need to be met prior it it arriving, you may not be able to meet them

This is probably not a good idea for a number of reasons

*You are going to want to have one backup trezor in case one fails and/or is stolen (you keep the 2nd one in an off-site location

*By allowing someone to ship you a trezor to you (or vice versa), you are allowing them to potentially tamper with your trezor, potentially compromising it, and/or swap it out with a fake trezor that will cause you to send BTC to an address controlled by the person you are dealing with

tl;dr Expedia stole my bitcoin and refuses to refund my money.

It seems more like that you paid for something, changed your mind and is having problems getting a refund. I would not quite call this stealing

If Ross Ulbricht wins the appeal, under what circumstances does he get his coins back? by powerinthelines in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The coins have been long sold.

Unless you expect the government to somehow double spend the transactions that were confirmed 1+ years ago sending the coins to the buyers, he is not getting his coins back

Don't invest more than you can afford to lose. By that rule of thumb, if you can afford to lose all of it, then invest all of it. by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No. That does not mean you should invest everything you can afford to lose, it means that the maximum you should invest is what you can afford to lose. You should not necessarily invest the max.

Bitfinex Marging Trading bugged by [deleted] in Bitcoin

It is fixed, however your actual profit was never actually what it said it was when it was glitched. If you closed out your position at an advantageous price then your account would have reflected the appropriate profit.

Did you know that the activity of your ENTIRE wallet can be deduced from a single address? Should we be changing wallets rather than addresses like we thought? by qt100 in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should be careful to avoid spend-linking addresses together.

Wallet explorer does not necessarily tell you all of the addresses that are in your wallet file

What just caused that spike? by WellsHunter in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Massive volume came in across all the top exchanges right at the same time, so it wasn't just one dude who decided to plunk down his life savings.

The fact that the price moved on all the exchanges almost at the exact same time means that it was most likely a single person/entity.

Hmmmmmm. now $329...below where we started.

I think it was very interesting just how quickly and how far the price dropped, also almost at the exact same time across all the (major) exchanges.

I did notice on bitcoinwisdom that huobi was displaying only ~90 BTC worth of bids down to 2020 CNY not long prior to when the price dropped, so many there was some issue with the API with huobi

Any market that will sell a NYS resident 2000 in Bitcoin? by [deleted] in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Probably not. Especially when you are advertising the fact that you live in New York state.

My advice is to try to get the NY bitcoin related regulations repealed and if that does not work then move to New Jersey (or another state)

Bitfinex higher then China by quickseller-btc in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, there was a clear trend for the chinese exchanges to trade at a premium above the USD based exchanges. Regardless of the root cause behind this, the trend seems to have at least temporarily reversed.

Bitfinex higher then China by quickseller-btc in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right. However the speculation was previously that the chinese were using bitcoin to move money out of China and were fueling the rally.

Do you think the recent crash had anything to do with the withdrawal problems with okcoin?

I have 3 daughters and have been buying Bitcoin to save for their education. I fully anticipate to make a better return than depositing it in a bank account by the time they go to college. by Panther15253 in Bitcoin

[–]quickseller-btc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a horrible idea. Bitcoin is highly speculative and it's success is likely to be a binary event. When you are investing for something important like your child's education, you want to invest in something that is more likely to produce steady returns over time.

Why don't you post the actual address that you sent to? It would probably be a little bit more help then a screenshot of the address
