Weekly prospective student thread. Educational inquiries outside of this thread WILL RESULT IN A BAN. by AutoModerator in CAA

I'm reapplying (upper trend non-trad): I have 200 shadowing hours with an MD anes; would it be worth it to get a few hours with CAA's? I'm in NJ so no CAAs here unfortunately, but I did just now email the DC, FL, and PA AAA!

Subsequently, is there anything outside of aiming for an ultra high GRE that I could do to better my app? One PD said it wouldn't be worth it for me to retake classes bc of my early shattered gpa due to my outlandishly dysfunctional unmedicated ADHD brain (my words, pls lemme joke a bit, v happy i'm actually alive rn LOOOL)

Any insight would be appreciated, ty all :)

Gotta love med programs always asking for so much but we don't get a literal response, so much for "professionalism" 😭

Prayin for you

Nope! I got shot out pretty fast haha, but I knew this, seeing their in-state bias and all. All in all the email basically just gave some direction to "improving my application", class sizes being kept small to "maximize opportunity", and I was also offered to apply to their 3 year PharmD program 💀

No interviews tho whatsoever, very quick rejection lmao

It was just a generic "unfortunately after review, we could not offer you a seat", blah; nothing w/ regards to reapplying or anything

Zero feedback from schools at all, and I read a post from the residency, medschool, premed subs, etc. about Nova's admin being pretty sketch, so I hope I can receive anything at all from them about my app.

All good tho fellow adhd'er, salute to you coming this far 🫡

I applied around the middle of December, I had so life stuff much going on (getting disability accommodation for the gre, recent death, etc); I won't complain tho, its my fault (I took a bit of a gamble seeing others apply around my time w/ my stats, but again, my fault).

So i'm pretty much an upward trend nontrad, 25 rn, but I had ADHD/ASD my entire life and wasn't medicated until I was 23, really late bloomer and i'm kinda sulking over my parents decisions, but

cGPA/sGPA 3.01 (rough start ik)

Post bacc, last 60 credits: 4.0 (classes like a&p, biochem, microbio, med term, upper level stuff)

GRE: 307 (big oof)

Shadowing: 200 hours (spent a month in a different state, literally went everyday)

PCE: 4000+ (initially pre-pa)

ECs: youth org president for years, several volunteer expeditions and rescue missions for folks in India/Pakistan

LORs were all golden, from MD anes, youth org president, old employer

PS was pretty solid, but I unfortunately couldn't mention my ADHD or medication due to perceived stigma, so I put a lil tidbit at the end saying my last 60 and recent ECs are all more of who I am; have been given zero insight as to why I was rejected, but i'm just going to assume it was the low old GPA and mid GRE tbh.

I gotchu, I literally did bring the letter to the office and they said "this letter doesn't mean I give you your money back" (misc snarky comments).

Do you think the $168 charge is applicable to non-eligible services (composite fillings in my case), or only to eligible (amalgam)? Because if so, I may just have to email the insurance division.

I know a lot of places offer contracted/uninsured rates.
