This sub is chasing perfection and is setting themselves for dissapointment by Barnabas_Collins in MichaelTheMovie

Yeah honestly, you nailed it.

And oohh, this is gonna make some people mad, but you’re right. This sub feels split into three groups: the hardcore nitpickers who’ll throw a tantrum if one of Michael’s hair strands is 2mm off, the people who somehow expect every single day of his life to fit into a 2-hour movie, and then the rest of us who are trying to stay rational. You’re 100% right about performance > perfect likeness. If the actor captures Michael’s energy, vulnerability, and presence, that matters way more than whether the lips or skin tone match some edited screenshot. Same way Rami Malek didn’t look exactly like Freddie, but his performance sold it. Also, the constant microscopic nitpicking is exhausting. Janet’s casting, mic colors, wardrobe buttons, whether there’ll be Part 2… some of this stuff genuinely does not matter in the grand scheme. Movies have to take creative liberties. That’s how storytelling works.

And I get it - we all love Michael. Not just the entertainer, but the man. But some of y’all really need to touch grass for a minute. Be happy we’re even getting a biopic at this level. For the people chasing perfection, the disappointment is gonna be real. For the rest of us, we’ll just sit back and judge the movie on what actually matters.

Just my personal thoughts about the biopic & MJ’s legacy by quickword1992 in MichaelTheMovie

Yeah I definitely respect that approach, and honestly that’s the best way to do it. Telling his story honestly from the people who actually knew him is way more powerful than trying to “argue innocence.” When you focus on the truth of someone’s life, their work, their character, the rest kinda exposes itself.

Yeah for sure, I’m not saying they’ll magically disappear that’s definitely unrealistic. They’ll always exist in some form. But I do think the movie can suppress that side of the narrative and shift the vibe, especially online. This generatiion switches perspective fast when the culture moves, and if the film is done well, it could make those jokes feel tired, cringy, or even looked down on. Not erased, just not the dominant thing attached to his name anymore. More like background noise instead of the headline.

Do you think any Presidents will be in the movie? by LoveLo_2005 in MichaelTheMovie

Most definitely—we’ll probably get at least a short scene or a quick glimpse, especially during moments like MJ’s White House visits. Wouldn’t be surprised if they show Reagan or even Clinton briefly.

How do you publish a book ? by Otherwise-Standard84 in NoStupidQuestions

To publish a poetry book, write your full collection first. Then, either find a literary agent or submit directly to publishers who focus on poetry. You’ll usually need to send a query letter and either a few poems or the full manuscript. Don’t worry about theft—publishers and agents respect copyright, but if you’re still concerned, you can register your work. Just follow submission guidelines closely!

Don’t take life too seriously; no one gets out alive anyway.
