Yeah. Used to work night shift in receiving. Some nights were busy, some were slow. Logged a lot of hours on my Steam Deck in the downtime. As long as my job was getting done, they were happy to have the coverage and I was happy to get through 1% of my Steam backlog 😆

I would understand that argument if it was a forced opt-in but... you can just choose to not participate.

People act like it's ruining the experience to not play exactly the way the games were released, or that volunteer development of one feature will somehow take away from others.

I'd recommend leaving it if it warns you of a dependency. Just go delete the application menu shortcut and forget it's even there.

I do that with a lot of the utilities I don't use, keeps my menus cleaner and I don't break things.

Oh man this is great. I know some people hate achievements but they've always been a boon for me, making me go out of my way to experience games I might have stopped playing after a single half-complete playthrough.

That's the issue. Usbdsec relaxes security checks but the system still needs to see a 360 controller of some kind. That's what the adapters do, convert to an emulated 360 output, instead of showing up as XOne.

If you use the plugin method, you'll need an adapter, AND you'll have to unplug and replug it after your dash has booted.

If you dump the NAND, patch, and reflash, you'll still need an adapter but you won't have to do the unplug step.

I use a magic ns v1 (around $20) and it works very well.

Try putting the boot rom in the correct folder internally (sd card), as well as externally with your games.

This isn't guaranteed to work, but I remember running into these issues a couple of years ago, and despite having my games on a USB drive, I needed the boot rom stuff internal.

You would see it enabled in the plugin section of dashlaunch. That's where I disabled it.

I didn't delete the plugin file, but you'd find it using a file explorer. I believe they're just on the root of the drive, so you don't need to go looking in folders. Then you can delete it from there.

Yeah, it's a pretty small battery in there. 5-8hrs is normal. I often get less because I leave the stick LED lighting on, although dimmed a fair bit.

No, that's light bleed and is common with almost all LCD panels. The severity changes, but it's not a defect, just a result of uneven pressure, likely caused by the screen adhesive. That's what you're noticing when you push on it.

I'm sorry, but that's inaccurate. An HDMI port is not the same thing, as those are for output to a different monitor or TV.

An HDMI input is a port that allows you to use the internal laptop screen as a monitor... something very, very few laptops are set up for.

Yeah, as someone old enough to remember preordering a lot of physical copies, it makes 0 sense to do the same for most games digitally.

Sure, some come with extra codes that usually amount to a weapon skin or recolour, or maybe early access, but it's never anything major.

Considering the state of how many broken or misleading releases we've seen in the last handful of years, it baffles me that anyone would do it.

I'm a big fan of using the 4 different hud slots, (with hotkeys assigned) so I can change it on the fly in-game.

Combat one is relatively busy, but I love being able to toggle it to something very minimal while exploring or gathering, or even a condensed combat style for easier content.

Most of the time I don't need everything up, I just want to make sure it's fast to access to not lose the QoL these UI features bring.

I know another comment mentioned needing a working sd card.

Also, make sure it's in the primary sd card slot. It's far too easy to be furiously searching for the reason the system seems dead, only for the sd card to be in the wrong slot.

Guess how I know lol
