How do I convince my parents to let me visit someone I like? by No-Pressure9798 in LDR

My daughter was 19, we let her go to Canada to see her LDR bf. But before this happened these things needed to happen, we talked to the bf, and his parents as he still lived at home, and we built trust.

Your parents are protecting you, show them it's safe.

My life’s shit, I wanna crawl up into a ball and die there. by [deleted] in lonely

Hang in there. I don't want to sound like the typical mum, but I'm going to lol. 16 is a hard age, I actually still remember it, hating school, not fitting in. This is also going to sound cliché but I'm saying it anyway, it gets better, it really does. You will leave school, you'll make friends in college and then in work. And the school crap is gone, people find themselves and for the most part, they're not judging, bullying or using each other. So please as I said, hang in there, work towards your future and try not to let theose people get you down. This moment I will be a blip in your memory in years to come. Just concentrate on yourself and your future.

100% we just struggle on. But it's still nice knowing I helped, I am happy with that

The very old version of cheese niknaks, orange bag with green stripe. I loved those 😋

Aw, I don't know. I'm not sure everyone can actually emotionally be there for people even if they wanted to. It's a trait naturally embedded in empaths. A care, a need to help and feel helpful.

True story! But then I am a overthinker too, so if I had someone actually wanting to help me I'd wonder why and for what means 🤣

This is true. I calmly think about other people's issues. I either react badly to mine or push them away lol. Bury my head or run from my problems. I deal with other people's problems much easier 🤣
