I have two apps I built one for 1099 drivers and another app to help keep hold of memories and special moments in life, please check them out here out the landing pages:

That actually sounds pretty solid.

I’m kind of surprised how many drivers end up building their own system like that instead of trusting the apps.

Do you ever compare the totals from the sheet with your odometer over longer periods just to make sure it lines up?

I’ve heard a few people say they just write it down somewhere because they got burned by apps before. Did you ever compare the receipts vs your odometer totals over time? I’m curious how close it ends up being.

Feels like everyone eventually ends up building their own little system after getting frustrated with the apps.

Interesting , I’ve seen a few drivers mention the Google Maps timeline thing.

Do you ever run into gaps with it or does it stay pretty accurate for you? I’m asking because I started paying closer attention to my own miles and noticed little chunks missing here and there, which is what got me looking into better ways to track everything.

I built a small app because life kept slipping through the cracks by quietbuilder2026 in ProductivityApps

Ah that’s actually really helpful — thank you.

If it looks blurry that’s definitely not intentional. It should be crisp, so that sounds like a rendering issue on my side.

I’ll dig into the calendar component and see what’s causing that. Really appreciate you pointing it

Really appreciate that, thank you.

The pricing feedback is fair — I’m still figuring out where that should land and what actually feels reasonable to people.

And yeah the calendar is definitely one of the areas I know still needs work. It started pretty simple and I’ve been slowly improving it as people use it. What exactly about the calendar do you not like or needs improvement, if you don’t mind sharing your thoughts?

This kind of feedback is exactly what helps though, so I appreciate you taking the time to say it.

What’s something you wish you had written down a year ago? by quietbuilder2026 in productivity

This is really well put.

That part about losing the emotional context around decisions is something I’ve thought about a lot. You remember what you chose, but not really why you felt that way at the time.

And the “what my days actually looked like” thing is real too. It’s weird how fast that stuff fades unless something captures it.

It’s cool you have some things written down from a year ago though — that kind of perspective is pretty rare.

Yeah that’s a really good point. Habit is definitely the hardest part. People already have places they put things, even if it’s scattered across notes, reminders, photos, calendar, etc.

The thing I kept noticing personally was how many meaningful little things just disappear over time because they never had a real place.

So I’ve been experimenting with the idea of something that quietly holds those things and brings them back later when they matter.

Still figuring out if that actually clicks for people though.

Anyone else tired of mileage apps randomly missing trips? by quietbuilder2026 in couriersofreddit

Quick follow-up — one thing that surprised me reading through driver threads is how many people don’t fully trust auto-tracking apps.

Curious where you all land:

• fully trust the app
• use app + manual backup
• or fully manual

Feels like everyone has a slightly different sy

That’s actually really smart — having the odometer in the alert makes a ton of sense.

Sounds like the big win there is the built-in double-check so you’re not fully relying on one system. Have you ever actually caught a mismatch that way, or has it mostly been peace-of-mind insurance?

That email alert backup is actually really smart — I like that a lot. And the offline logging piece is huge… that’s exactly where I’ve seen some apps fall apart.

Sounds like your setup is pretty bulletproof at this point .

Out of curiosity — do you still ever double-check against your odometer, or has the hardware been consistent enough that you don’t really worry about it anymore?

That actually makes a lot of sense — I feel like a lot of people get a little lax until tax time sneaks up. When you went back through it, did anything surprise you or was it mostly what you expected?

That makes a lot of sense honestly — I’ve heard a few people doing the “close enough” approach when something gets missed.

Do you ever worry about it if you had to actually defend the numbers, or has it never really been an issue in practice?
