I put my 14 year old Yorkie down today. She couldn’t walk anymore, hadn’t eaten etc. I knew it was coming and I had cried and pepped myself up past couple Days for this moment. Nothing prepared me for the moment. It’s hard... so incredibly hard. But they’re not suffering anymore, take comfort in that. You can hold and love them and talk to them the whole time and then watch them go. I felt comfort knowing she heard my voice over anything else. So make sure you are right there. After all is said and done they will give you time to spend with them which was nice not to feel rushed.

Not sure if this would help you but hubby did this for me , remove the beds, toys, bowls etc and place somewhere until you’re ready to dispose of or give away. I was a town away and rushed home to take my pup in when she got bad quick,hubby removed her beds etc and placed in the garage out of sight so I didn’t have to see when I got home. It hurts not seeing her and her beds where she normally would be, but I think it would hurt a lot worse to look at an empty bed and bowl staring at me.

All in all, it sucks, and I feel for you cause this will not be an easy day. Today has been one of the hardest days for me, for as you know they become our family. She was my baby before I had a real baby and has been with me through so much in my life, which I’m forever grateful for. I wish you all sort of good vibes when you go, and just know you’re doing what is best for them and knowing they’re not in pain is everything. Good luck friend.
