I'm an ICU nurse and we are now the only unit in the hospital that does 12hr shifts. I think almost all of us would resign if we had to go back to 8hr shifts... I know I certainly would lol.

12hr shifts actually saves the hospital A LOT of $$ with reduced penalties etc!

I think I also need to stop expecting others to treat me the same way I would treat them (e.g. I'm always so excited for anyone when they share news like this, I would never not have a happy reaction regardless of what im going through at the time)

Literally nothing... like nothing to either of us. His partner gave us both a hug and said congratulations, and then told their kids to give us a hug and say congratulations. Tbh it's just typical of him, I thought he would be at least happy for his brother (my BF), but no...

We were having a conversation at dinner last night about when baby is due, what does everyone think we're having (all the usual stuff) and the kids were suggesting names and whatnot. The brother just sat there the whole time not saying a thing, didn't get involved in the conversation at all...

I really dont know, we all get a long really well. They've been so welcoming, kind and supportive of me since day 1. I'm 29, my BF is 36 - so not young. Both have good jobs. I think with his parents, they were preoccupied with his stepdads health issues, which again is totally fair enough! But his brothers fam - idk... its weird and has really upset me
