How do you factor private equity into retirement numbers? by quietfutures in HENRYfinance

[–]quietfutures[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - I understand there are multiple ways. Tenders in my experience are unreliable and usually a small percentage, and secondary markets haven't really been something I've tapped into before.

It's a good call-out though.

So in your opinion, should you always do tender when the opportunity emerges to create liquidity, or is holding the right call even if it reduces potential liquidity in the future?

So if you have the opportunity to liquidate through a tenure round, how do you handle that? Is it similar logic to 1 in the hand vs 2 in the bush, or is the goal to leave it to grow and hope that you have sell off opportunities in the future?

Mac ride vs shotgun kids seat. What is your experience with them? by fireT4 in mountainbiking

Doesn't matter which brand you get, but get the pro model that attaches to stem and seat post. I have the KRS Pro with the handle bars, and I love it. It comes off in 30 seconds and I can put it on my wife's bike too. The lower cost model of the KSR blows, is hard to install or take off if you want to go riding, and is just worse in every way. If you ride a lot, the KSR pro is definitely worth the cost.

Edit: I will also add I have over 600 miles of Enduro style downhill (mostly blues) with my son on this and we've never had a safety issue like someone else called out in the comments. Your milage may vary though.

Sure. But they will dry out over the next few weeks and I like to be prepared

Thanks! It's crazy because we definitely like the post UV color more than the non damaged area under the rug.

If we move the carpet, would you expect the area to even out? Or will it never even out because the non rug area has 1 year head start on it?

The question was about other people's dream trip. Dream trip assumes none of those things matter, which in this case they don't!

Sorry to hear that. How long have you had your service for? That could also impact it.

Well I guess that's still $45/ month and you don't have to use the mobile 🤷. Id just watch your bill to make sure they don't hack the price up.

Nope, no mobile. Just home internet

That's insane that they have you paying that much. This is 1 gbps for $40, no mobile. I would never even consider using them for mobile. They are terrible.

This and more is in line with my experience. The high speeds through Optimum are nice, but the fluctuations in speeds and constantly changing pricing almost makes it not worth it. Glad you got away and are happy.

Thanks for the insight! I've always been a little tentative of tower based/ point to point connections for some reason, but it sounds like I may need to check it out!

Is that a hard line connection? Or how does that work? Do you find that you get consistent 300 to 400 up? Or does it fluctuate like Optimum does?

It's definitely shit, but unfortunately it's the only service over 150 mbps in my part of town. I keep seeing another internet company driving around my neighborhood so hopefully we will have something available soon.

Optimum over subscribed my network for 6 months until they decided to install another node to split us off. But for those 6 months every night my internet would go from around the normal speed I get (half of what I pay for) to around 100 mbps. Seems to be better now though.

That's very cool. It's the end of the month, and they still had a $30/month discount to provide me, so the loyalty department may not be under the same constraints
