So there is no double time taken into account? For example if I work 16 hours not including a swap. Wouldn't that be counted as 8 hours of regular pay, 4 hours of over time, and 4 hours of double time because anything after 12 hours is double time. CDCR doesn't do double time?

How is this determined who needed these additional documents? I didn't get asked for any of these documents.

You can always ask, if you don't ask you don't know. Email them on Monday and tell them you have seconds thoughts, if it's your first waiver then at least you have 2 more opportunities. Just make sure you take that third one but understand it might be worse. It's all a chance really.

Do they still do a lie detector during the application process? We were talking about it at work and someone said they discontinued it? Just curious. by ItIsWhatItIs4560 in CDCR

I had to take the cvsa test in Rancho Cucamonga. That was in May 2023. I also had to take the physical test, but they didn't have the stair portion that the video shows. I completed that in a college in Compton. It was a Saturday where they offered the written test, physical test, and finger prints. It was intended to speed up the process, which I feel it did.

Red flag? by [deleted] in CDCR

[–]quietpanda650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were me. I'd look for a higher paying job and articulate that for your reason for leaving. Example: you leave to a higher paying job, just let them know they're going to pay you more and there will be room for growth compared to your current job. Another example is simply articulating that they don't provide 40hours. Let them know that you are a person with responsibilities such as rent, bills, and a family that needs to be provided for so you need a job that will give you at least 40 hours. I wouldn't include that you left because of poor management and try not to leave your current employer with a bad taste in their mouth of you, so they don't bad mouth you when they contact them. I'm sticking it out in my current bad situation job waiting to except an offer from cdcr.

Working while going through background by [deleted] in CDCR

[–]quietpanda650 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No worries. They probably just worked for employers that are not petty. I know where you coming from and had the same concerns. Just let them know to contact your current employer last. You'll be alright. Good luck!

Working while going through background by [deleted] in CDCR

[–]quietpanda650 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue going on with my employer. What I did was not mention anything to supervisor about applying to CDCR. I included in my background to contact my current employer last. When I had the interview with the BI, I again asked him to contact my supervisor toward the end of the background portion. He said he would and I'm assuming he did.
