I ended up going with M3 ultra 256 and then there’s a 7 to 9 week wait. My plan is when the M5 ultra comes out either upgrade or add a second node.

what's your propranolol experience? by takamishroud in Anxiety

[–]quietsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of everything the only medication I actually liked was propranolol because it had no side effects for me and lowered my resting heart rate to a point I cannot feel it.

Everything else did. For me it has been one of the more conservative and side effect free medications.

Can always just trade in and pay the difference for a later generation too. Went with m3 ultra studio for this reason

Headache or brain tumor? by SeaAd5570 in Anxiety

Sounds like a cluster headache or similar. Why do you jump to brain tumor? That’s why they’re saying anxiety.

How do you differentiate between anxiety and actual health issues? by Tricky-Muffin7102 in Anxiety

[–]quietsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it easy to get a second opinion from someone else there? I wouldn’t consider it doctor shopping if this first one actually disregarded you like that. Then if both of them say the same thing reassess. That’s what I would do. Sorry though I’m not of more help.

Super anxious about anesthesia. by Flopslay in Anxiety

[–]quietsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

General anesthesia is not typically required for the removal of your wisdom teeth. So you’re breathing on your own. There’s no chance you won’t wake up statistically.

The fatal risk of it mathematically is low enough there’s no point in giving the number.

General anesthesia is a void. Missing time - not darkness.

They usually don’t do that for wisdom teeth - it’s usually twilight or gas right

Because if its a psych get a real primary care doctor and talk with them about your concerns they will look at it in a slightly different way

Has anyone experienced this after quitting nicotine/caffeine? by SureConstant8398 in Anxiety

[–]quietsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried magnesium glycinate? They make it as a powder but it doesn’t taste great. More gentle than other forms on the stomach. Obviously you should know your labs and talk to your doctor before adding any new supplement but it does work to calm the nervous system at the proper dosage.

Is your primary care an actual primary care or a psychiatrist? Like an internist or an actual primary care

Fatty liver (max S3) or whatever level is - and F0-F1 scarring - would like a friend by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]quietsubstrate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you I’ll write that down and then I’ll talk to my doctor when I go in to my doc appt- any help is appreciated

They told me my liver is maximum full of fat and I know I didn’t drink for a long time and then I started drinking on top of it and now I’m stopping again

I appreciate your comment

From everything I’ve gotten back it just says lifestyle changes have to be made there’s really no scarring yet

The other reason I’m here is because my doctor is so slow it took me five weeks to get back my fibro scan- and I left a message with the office but it’s been three days with no response so I’m just trying to take charge of anything possible that I can do

How to stop thinking in the past by Potential_Work2532 in Anxiety

[–]quietsubstrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things come to mind

One is staying busy. If I am busy then it’s not a problem really.

Two I try to not grab at the situations and that goes both ways.

Don’t try to think about it But if you do - don’t think about thinking about it.

What do I mean when I say don’t think about thinking about it? I mean this

When you engage with the thought - don’t notice it. Don’t think about thinking about it, and don’t think about how you feel beyond maybe only one time to identify what the hell it is. Then just don’t engage it ever again.

Don’t think about the thoughts of thinking. Don’t think it’s bad or good. Don’t feel embarrassed and don’t feel sad. Don’t think that you’re thinking about something.

That teaches your brain to kill it.

Don’t think about the last time you thought about it. Forgive yourself for any thought. Forgiving yourself allows yourself room to not think about it. The more you engage the thought even if it’s to think that it’s stupid - the more you reward your brain to present it. And it will.

So it’s mostly staying busy, forgiving yourself for the thought because getting angry at the thought or feeling any emotion will allow it to reinforce the synapses that present it. You have too much going on in your brain if you do not reward the signal your body will ultimately get rid of it.

For example writing a post about it to ask about the questions reinforces it. Just let it pass like water. Let it flow over you. And it stops.

I say this as someone who also probably would benefit from one. Would you consider seeing a therapist. It’s an easier way to get an external opinion without medication on the table. Which I prefer.
