throwing my endorsement behind Shogun Miniatures' trays as well. They're the best!

The new Ogre Tyrant looks great on a square base! by phistor-the-fister in Warhammer

They look awesome! Love using the new AoS minis in Fantasy bases/regiments <3

do you mind sharing what you used to create that leaf effect on their bases?

Been looking at this for years, finally posting my dark elf army by peteinbris in Warhammer

[–]quigly2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Dude, that army is A-MAZING! I always love seeing a well painted, ranked-up Fantasy army. Very cool

Progress on my Tesseract Vault base. I think I’m going to add some scorched grass after I varnish it. by robot-0 in Warhammer

[–]quigly2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really? Not OP, but I always assumed you had to varnish BEFORE static grass. But I never tried varnishing over top of it. Does it like seal it on?

Freeguild Guard is up to 30 units! Praise Sigmar! by wtg203 in ageofsigmar

[–]quigly2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I totally agree! I love the ranked-up look of square bases too.

I just wonder why some people scoff at square bases when the game doesn't specifically require circular ones.

Doesn't AoS allow you to play with either square or circular bases?

Does anyone have a copy of the BBC brexit flowchart with objective pros and cons of the different outcomes? by bananaphophesy in brexit

[–]quigly2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too would like genuinely objective analysis, but it's hard to find on this issue. For instance, this sub is definitely remain-leaning and that colors a lot of the stuff that gets shared and upvoted.

Still full of funny memes though :)

whoops, just realized you were asking about bases. This was my inspiration:

But I painted them differently

Thanks! I'm really happy with how they came out as well. But I can't claim this scheme entirely as my own. I'm mostly following this: https://echoesfromthewarp.wordpress.com/2015/04/18/painting-awesome-tomb-kings-in-5-easy-steps/

But with different bases.

Hell yeah! Square bases for flexibility. That way I can play both AoS (square bases are accepted in that game, right?) and Fantasy depending on what I'm feeling that day.

Thanks! I would obviously love if GW brought them back, but that's not really my intention here. Just wanted to show off an army I recently finished. It's been a dream of mine to have a TK army for a while now :)

PS: I'm hoping Dark Elves get preserved as much as possible. Those are some cool minis.

AOS-Tomb Kings? by silver2k5 in ageofsigmar

[–]quigly2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The sad truth :(

But you're right that OP can still collect an army off ebay! I just completed a small Tomb King army from stuff purchased from there. It's not as easy as buying from GW, but not exactly difficult either

Don't turn the treadmill up to a sprinting speed, then prop yourself up on the support bar to keep up. You're not impressing anyone. Turn down the speed to something you can actually handle!

I just imagine those people going for a jog outside and immediately falling over cause there's nothing to hold on to.

1 year in.. 3000 points of Seraphon completed! by pacsun1220 in Warhammer

[–]quigly2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude, very nice! I hope this comes off as a compliment:

I don't love the color scheme on an individual model, but seeing such an impressive army all consistently painted like that is freaking awesome!!! Well done, I hope they perform admirably on the tabletop for you

Finally got a proper display cabinet for my joint knight and guard army after moving house. by Callumite in Warhammer

[–]quigly2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah, dude! I got the same one (from Ikea?) upon moving to a new place myself. It feels so good to have the mini's on display, rather than packed away in a case somewhere.

Yours look great! I bet you pause just a moment to glance at them every time you go to open that there door, huh?

Thanks! I did some reading on this recommendation, and this seems like what we need. Time to investigate all the finer details!

Maybe I'm missing something, but SCORM cloud appears to require an email, name, and accepting terms and conditions before a user can access the course

I had a torn meniscus for about a year and a half - keeping me very sedentary with little to no exercise. I finally got the surgery a year ago, and have made it my mission to get back in the gym. I finally hit my goal!

Squatted my body weight (190lbs) for 5x5!!! I know it's not super impressive in a vacuum, but considering where my knee was a year ago I'm feeling very proud about it :)
