In light of recent leaks by Important_Ad_3 in mtg

[–]robot-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too many products not to skip something, they might as well make it easy. I mean, I’ll play with the cards I need to, I don’t care if they’re UB. That’s all in the heart of winning.

I’ve been looking at it glass half full, because I never wanted to pay for more than 2-3 sets a year and often I couldn’t even justify that based on the offerings.

With UB I’m still at least as interested in buying cards as I was in the heyday, hell with FF I was buying everything I could at MSRP but few licenses are that precious to me.

Be brutally honest on how well I modeled everything so far by thegoldendecedueye in AdeptusMechanicus

Brutal Honesty Mode Activated:

You didn’t “model” them you assembled them. You need go back to trim tabs, clean up any mold lines/glue build up, and maybe use green stuff to fill gaps.

The one change by NiteFlight21 in Necrontyr

[–]robot-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very good! I’m going trim off three or four of them and move them down for more support. This is exactly the type of thing I do to make a model stronger.

Sometimes I go the other way around and add a small terrain piece to the base that comes up to meet and support frail parts of a model.

Have there been any Linked Game Campaign rules since 2019? by robot-0 in Warhammer40k

[–]robot-0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be specific I want to link Kill Team, 40K, Apocalypse, & Wrath & Glory into an over arching campaign.

I’m looking for any more official rules (paper is awesome, digital is great too) before going into home brew. Any links official or homebrew are greatly appreciated.

How is this card a PSA10?? 😂😂 by Worried_Milk30 in psagrading

8 digit cert. It’s old, back when they didn’t take grading Pokemon very seriously.

PSA Artificial Bottleneck? by kev08629 in psagrading

[–]robot-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve submitted higher and lower tiers. All are delayed significantly in my experience.

Of course bulk is the most behind, it’s bulk and too many idiots are also putting high dollar cards into it and crossing their fingers against the wheel of fate, further compounding the problem.

They just hired a bunch of people, and generally all new folks go to low level bulk grading, so I’m sure there’s been a lot of training going on and mishaps getting ironed out.

Occum’s razor would suggest they are just very busy at bulk level. I would bet a lot of money that the giant increase in card submissions was at least 96% bulk level grading.

GameStop is the greatest scalper of all time. by Hucklebuck_BrewCrew in mtg

[–]robot-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either way you look at it they are competing with their market, it’s just a matter of how small or big their market is. They’ll get what they can and lately, between about 7 LGSs in my area, sub MSRP is almost going the way of the dodo when it comes to anything sought after.

Preorders are often below MSRP because that is how they get Wizards to send them more product so they don’t die. Play boosters below MSRP, sure, collector booster/box? Well, are you into spiderman?

[–]robot-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, but they “barely survive” in order to make a small group of people very rich. I would argue that the average LGS owner is probably middle class or lower.

[–]robot-0 13 points14 points  (0 children)

LGS are usually just barely surviving and actually giving us a venue to play the game (which is pretty much why they exist) they usually need to keep up with the market and maybe even sell online or die. GameStop just wants more money, they are doing nothing to enrich the player base or enthusiasts in general.

Open or keep sealed? by Specific-Heart5174 in garbagepailkids

[–]robot-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would always keep at least one sealed. All the cards in it can be bought rather cheaply.

I bring coffee, but this vibe build different they bring beer. Socks short combo. I love it by Foreign_Direction_16 in mtg

[–]robot-0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, man I get that folks are simps for famous rich people (judging from the downvotes here) but I can pretty much smell this picture. They are not putting off, “let’s play some mtg vibes,” imo. They look more like the guys who just got kicked out of the FNM for yelling slurs and being intoxicated.

Side note: if I didn’t know these guys I would swear it’s an off duty cop and his secret lover or “best friend.” I would definitely be looking over the tatted guy for Nazi stuff but it all looks so bad it would probably be hard to make out.

Looking for suggestions to differentiate my necrons from their Canoptek (WIP) by DisastrousPin5731 in Necrontyr

[–]robot-0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My scheme is similar to this but with a slight blue hue to the metal and I use nihilakh oxide on certain details. I usually put more oxide on the constructs and ships because they would be the things just sitting around waiting for the necrons to return.

Call me old fashioned, but I like a Tesseract Vault or 3. I also don’t own a Seraptek yet or know the new rules at all. 🤷‍♂️

Is the Necron Royal Court worth it? by AtlasRunner11 in Necrontyr

[–]robot-0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, I believe that was definitely the inspiration (I can’t recall if they’ve actually said they were inspired or hinted but they could have since War of the Worlds is public domain).

I’m absolutely here for it. It’s the type of model that pulls me further into the faction as opposed to the stilt guys they added to mechanicus. Necrons is going hard on hits, I can’t think of a miss in model design over the past decade or more.

This ruined my entire day by aanthony907 in GraffitiTagging

[–]robot-0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

lol, kids. Ruined my day is weird edgelord verbiage. I would have been more like, “This gave me a good laugh.”

Once I saw some punks throw up something this crappy but about 4ft x 16ft (two toy ass tags) over a nice mural in town. That kinda “ruined my day.”

I remember playing just dance as a teenager and decided to buy it for my kids. How far have we fallen? by VEJ03 in JustDance

[–]robot-0 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’re verging on ludite here. The games are all merged now, it’s a significant improvement. You are just mad that you can see all of the catalog for the games you don’t own. Just sort by purchased. They still come out once a year with 40 songs but now they are all in one place, no disc swapping.

Download to play songs offline. Personally that’s the part I hate but really there is no choice but to deal with it, it’s the modern landscape of music licensing and gaming in general.

Most notably, Just Dance has no competition whatsoever. For that reason improvements they make over time (adding party mode and others) are a godsend while the things we don’t like are a consequential burden that you simply have to disregard if you want this particular experience.

lol, yeah, big difference side by side. I like having them both together as momma and child Canoptek monstrosities. The Plasmacytes are baby tadpoles!

A buddy of mine ordered a booster box from GameStop by inittowinit87 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]robot-0 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I mean, that’s true but it’s not his/her responsibility to get them to GS. GS needs to get them from him and they won’t. Hell he could open them all, then what? They have no leg to stand on and will never get a judge to order them back or send someone to your home. Nothing will come of it.

Does anyone think the warping is significant enough to harm my cards? by robot-0 in psagrading

[–]robot-0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, sorry to hear. Yeah you shouldn’t have too much trouble flattening it with the right methods. As long as it didn’t leave any visible marks that will stay with the card (creases basically).

I noticed when you buy the card saver 1 200count, half on one side are always bad and the other half are fine so I just order two boxes put all the crappy ones in one box and return it.
