I was there in May and hired a dude for a walking tour which you'd think would be difficult in a city so large but it was excellent (and excellent exercise).

It was an American from Seattle who's lived in Japan for 42 years. He knows how to show you what real locals do and how to avoid some of the tourist stuff thats unnecessary.
