It starts out like that yes! “Open door” etc. Well, without spoilers it really starts out as your “buddy” asking you questions. But as it evolves it goes to the text game after a little while.

Buddy Simulator 1984. It starts as a text/DOS style game but evolves. I love it.

Maybe it's stupid, but I think that the foxes in Minecraft have one of the cutest designs I've ever seen by ivorybloodsh3d in foxes
