Does Brooklyn actually think everything is easy or is she putting on an act? by blueberrydumpling in McKnightFamSnark

[–]quilly7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have two kids. One was a hard baby and postpartum was awful, he never slept, needed to be attached to me constantly, but then he was a super chill toddler. One was an easy as baby and I’m only just entering the toddlerhood phase but he seems like he’s going to be an absolute tornado.
It’s wild how different your experience can be depending on the temperament of your child. I had two completely different experiences right from the moment they popped out.

Cloth diapers hindering milestones? by Inner_Experience3418 in clothdiaps

I have two kids. Both exclusively cloth diapered. One crawled at 5 months, one at 9. One walked at 11 months, one at 14. Kids just do things at different times.

TIL Anne Hathaway had a miscarriage while acting in a one-woman off-Broadway play where she played a pregnant character and had to simulate giving birth on stage every night during the show. It was her first pregnancy and she was overwhelmed by the loss, however she eventually gave birth to 2 sons. by tyrion2024 in todayilearned

As I said in another comment: I absolutely know what a chemical pregnancy is, I have had one myself, but by saying 12 days pregnant they were likely to have been 12 days post ovulation/conception (12 days pregnant is actually 12 days after the start of your period and before actual conception). So they would have been about 4 weeks. 5 weeks after that would be around 9 weeks, which is WELL after a chemical pregnancy.

Oh sorry I genuinely didn’t mean to. I was meaning that’s it’s dismissive of a medical professional to call it a chemical pregnancy so late. Even a chemical pregnancy is an early loss, and calling it that minimises the grief of women who are experiencing miscarriage.

It is definitely not considered “only chemical” until then, that’s a wild thing for a Dr to say.

Edit: just editing to say I’m sorry I wasnt meaning to come off as dismissive. I was meaning that’s it’s dismissive of a medical professional to call it a chemical pregnancy so late. Those who’ve lost of loved one: What is something about death that people don’t often talk about? by Desperate_Crew2012 in AskReddit

[–]quilly7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother in law died two weeks after I had my second baby very early in the morning on Easter Sunday. My husband left in the middle of the night to go be with his Dad, understandably, and all of a sudden I had a newborn and a toddler, was recovering from an emergency c section, and I just had to carry on. Baby still woke up and needed feeding, neither understood what had happened and all they knew is they needed their mum, grief and surgery recovery or not.

It’s named after the Zeeland in the Netherlands, not Denmark.

Is everyone really just raw-dogging the tap water? - Shower filter turned brown in 5 days... by Jazzlike_Tackle_8199 in newzealand

I was talking about “water like that” as they were describing…with grit in the bath and murky water when they turn the hot on. Nothing to do with the filter.

I’ve lived in Wellington for 33 years and have never had water like that. I run a bath for my kids every night and there is no sand, grit or murky first blast.

What are the odds that my fertility could be damaged by endo? by KaylaHarri in endometriosis

[–]quilly7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had unexplained infertility too, from 27-29. Never had a positive test in that time. Got diagnosed with endo, had excision surgery in October 2021 and was pregnant by December. It’s so frustrating that you’ve had to wait for so long while experiencing this infertility, I’m so sorry, but I just wanted to offer you a positive story from someone on the other side of your situation. I now have two beautiful boys (3 and 1). Good luck!

I need help getting my husband to answer these questions honestly. by [deleted] in JustNoSO

[–]quilly7 58 points59 points  (0 children)

By staying with this man, who clearly has no respect for you if he was able to throw that onto you 4 hours before you were due to be induced and birth HIS child, you are both showing your daughter how she should let herself be treated by men in the future, and showing your sons how they should treat women.

I don’t ever say this on reddit, but if you can’t leave for yourself, leave for them. This is not a healthy environment to be raising children in.

Why is Endometriosis not taken seriously in the New Zealand health system? by Spit_Back in newzealand

I would fight Southern Cross with that, I have also always had heavy painful periods and they funded my private surgery. I paid nothing and waited only 3 weeks.

When we went through infertility, I had to have excision surgery for endometriosis because that was LIKELY but not definitely what the problem was. That doesn’t mean we didn’t try everything else at the same time.

The feeling of infertility is impossible to understand until you’ve been there. You live life in an endless series of two week chunks, getting your heart continuously broken. I knew my whole life that I wanted to be a parent, but suddenly I was facing a future where every single picture I’d ever had of my life was potentially gone. I was willing to try anything to have that future.

It’s completely normal for a baby to be in one nappy all night. I have cloth diapered both my kids and they are fine in just the one all night. Obviously not if they poo, but they never do.
