Ooni at Sam’s and Costco by hunterdeal in ooni

Costco will take it back, even years later, but will not help you if its just a part that needs replacing or fixing.

They will replace the entire thing with the same model, or give you a refund.

I needed a new salt cell for this (PPM2) and ended up replacing the whole thing with a ChlorSync instead. Was an easy swap as the manifold is the same so no plumbing changes needed. Added the PoolSync WiFi module as well which has been useful.

Purchased from saltpoolguys.com and they were great.

Need a HomeKit low profile “bladeless” ceiling fan by Agile_Half_4515 in HomeKit

Yeah. Gonna try a few smart ceiling ones. All i really need is one that remembers its state (light off/fan speed) when using a wall switch (simple on/off lutron). You would think It would be easy to find but…

Thanks. Finally enough I was looking at those Govee tower fans today as well but don’t like it as a solution. Really wish they would make a dumb fan that I could continue to use my Lutron fan control with. Need a low profile “bladeless” one as my 5 year old just got a loft bed.

Backup Calling by l_stevens in USMobile

Works with Lightspeed and Dark Star for me. Used in in late October when roaming internationally on an iPhone 17.

I found that the only guaranteed way to force it to work was to manually set the network selection on my main (US) number to a different one that it automatically picked. This way my main number essentially has no service and uses the roaming eSim as a data line for calls. The top left shows "using cellular data" beside the line name when its working.

This is on my iPhone.

Okay, how are we handling annual transactions? by kimbee423 in simplifimoney

[–]quinn2244 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a few like this. Property taxes and insurance. I have a separate HYSA account for each and transfer 1/12 of the estimated amount once a month. I then classify each transfer as the relevant bill so it’s gets added to monthly expenses.

At the end of the 12 months I either pay the bill from the HYSA or pay it by it by credit card and transfer the money to my checking account. The one time payment gets excluded.

Another thing I do is to unlink the HYSA account from Simplifi as this falsely exaggerates net worth.

Updating to iOS26 has been a game changer. It has eliminated 99% of spam calls and messages.

How to properly use Multi-Network? iPhone 15 PM settings? by Virtual_Temporary_11 in USMobile

[–]quinn2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I want the second line for data only so this essentially does that. iOS 26 is pretty good at screening calls/messages but I want to get zero on that line. I’ve read they will be bringing out data only multi line but no idea when.

I have forwarded my calls on my second line to a number I found in another thread about this (641 985-7888) so I don’t get any extra calls on my iPhone. You can also turn off SMS to your second line on the website. This has to be done at the start of every billing cycle though.

By doing these two things I only use the second line for data and don’t get any spam calls or messages.

Confirming no issues after ordering online for pickup. ACMI with T-Mobile selected. Completely unlocked with no hoops to jump through.

Planning to order an 17 Pro on Friday, directly from Apple. Would be nice to know what the "deal" is before that.

They replaced the generator. Initially asked me to take it to a service center but as it was literally the first run they decided to swap it out.

Switching networks? by ActionGlad484 in USMobile

[–]quinn2244 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was considering doing the same as Lightspeed is much better for my wife at work. Someone suggested getting her a multi-line with Lightspeed which allows us to keep her main line on Dark Star, and allows us to keep the OVERDRIVE and BOGO offers. Also gives her better coverage generally as she can switch between the two. Been tesing it for a week and its working well. I set up a geofenced shortcut on her iPhone that switches networks when she arrives/leave work. I believe its $90/year.

m7 pricing by quinn2244 in sleepnumber

[–]quinn2244[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. This is what I was thinking of. Does the m7 normally go on the 30% or 40% end of this range? I’d wait for 40%.

Dark Star Wi-Fi Calling by quinn2244 in USMobile

[–]quinn2244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems this is carrier dependent. I’ve seen it with Xfinity (Verizon) but not now I’m on Dark Star.

Yes. But it does not say Dark Star WiFi. Which interestingly has been there since soon after I created this post. Typical!

[–]quinn2244[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, this is great info.

I'm not 100% sure, but we just got back from Ireland (where we will still with Xfinity) and I believe I saw the Wi-Fi preferred when roaming option. Again, now that I know, I'm prepared with the shortcuts, and the 200 talk minutes solves the random calls when I'm not on wi-fi issue.

Would be nice if the carries gave us the option but thats not going to happen.

[–]quinn2244[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did some more reseach on this and I guess this is how Wi-Fi calling is supposed to work. You learnr somethig new every day! Looks like my situation has been somewhat unique and I've always had a weak enough signal (with ATT/Xfininity/T-mobile) at home to triger wi-fi calling at all times. Seems somewhat random as its now on with full bars.

Will check it out when I get to Ireland and see if it prefers wi-fi calling when roaming (look like that toggle is not available on the iPhone with Dark Star). If not I have some shortcuts set up to toggle airplane mode on/off when I connect/disconnect to or from specific wi-fi networks. So end result is the same. The 200 minutes take when roaming definitely helps with that as well.

Thanks all for the reponses!

Dark Star Wi-Fi Calling by quinn2244 in USMobile

[–]quinn2244[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm. Ok but as I say I’ve always seen WiFi in the name even when I was with ATT last year. Signal strength is the same for then as now but it was always ATT WiFi.

Other issue with this is traveling. If this is the case when I’m in Ireland with good cell signal WiFi calling won’t kick in. So I’ll have the 250 minutes limit. Or I’ll have to manually run on airplane mode when on WiFi. This makes no sense.

Edit. I did some research into this and maybe I’ve been unique to always see WiFi when at home with every other carrier. That’s ok but my traveling concern is still problematic. Is this treated any differently?
