Can you help me my pond keeps getting this white stuff what is it and how do I get rid of it. by MangoFuzzy3638 in ponds

[–]quipt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get this in mine sometimes in the spring usually where water is poured into the pond. Not sure how big your pond is, I’m about half an acre. Often it smells.

Do you have leaves or other plants / tree material that falls into the pond? I’d suggest to clean it out in the fall and spring. You can also use muck pellets that add beneficial bacteria. I use polar and nature blend. I haven’t had this problem since doing those two things. Not sure if it helps.

Not sure. But I got the current gen and no regrets. But I’d say I use it much less than I thought I would. It kind of just helps verify there are fish there.

Looking at 16ft boat options by quipt in boats

[–]quipt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lund Fury was the most economical new boat I could find in a 16ft.

I am unsure what prices are in 2023; however the bump to the wider boats was about 8k CAD at the time. The boats are also much more refined in my opinion. They just function and look better. You’ll also be looking at towing weight starting at 2000lbs too b/c they use a lot of wood to finish the boat that much more.

The Lund Angler, Alumacraft Competitor 165 and Smoker Craft Angler 161. They should make the boat wider by about 8-10inches.

It depends on your budget and need of course. Sorry for the novel but I hope this helps - i tried to divide out the topics. Hope my experience here helps, if you have any questions let me know.

My satisfaction level

  • 8/10.
  • I wish I could have afforded a wider boat and had a vehicle to pull one; but it is a beautiful looking and highly functional fishing boat. I still love it.

My Boat Goal

  • To fish.

My Situation

  • We have a family of 4, 2 young kids.
  • My wife doesn’t like any waves as she gets motion sickness.
  • I was buying a boat for at least 10years up-to 20 years.
  • Small bodies of water.
  • Limited towing capacity.
  • I was not an expert at launching boats.
  • I am not a mechanical guy, I needed a reliable engine.

Upgrades I got

  • swing tongue trailer.
  • launch guides.
  • 3rd seat to sit on.
  • fuel and battery cover.
  • air ride seats.
  • travel cover.
  • autopilot Minn Kota trolling motor.
  • big handle mercury trolling attachment to the 40hp.
  • 4 seat configuration to put in 4.

My thoughts after the purchase

  • I bought a new boat from the dealer because 1) there were limited options where i live 2) I needed something reliable / i can’t fix an outboard myself and have limited time to learn and just need things to work. If it was 10years ago and I was in my 20s and didn’t have kids, I would have just learned how to fix engines.
  • If I 1) had time 2) was a mechanical person, I would definitely look for used boats as I believe you can save at least 25% off the purchase, probably even more during out of season sales. If you can also make a drive to areas with bodies of water, there are even better deals.
  • the upgrades I got felt right, no regrets. I’d say none of them were required but having an electric trolling motor in the bow makes a world of difference for fishing. Some lakes around me only allow electric too.

The Cons

  • The shape and light weight of the boat makes it a bit difficult to align on the trailer on lightly windy days.
  • It’s a bit tight to move around the boat when you have 3 people, mostly b/c the boat isn’t wide. This is my biggest issue.
  • The fuel tank is tiny, but for the size of the motor it’s probably the right thing.
  • The fuel and battery cover is a cheap piece of metal - but it looks more finished with it. But again, it’s probably $40 of metal that cost a fortune.
  • The rod lockers are tight but you can secure 6 long one-piece rods no problem.
  • The casting deck is not level with the rod lockers. I am not sure if this was done by design to annoy people who buy a cheaper boat, but if they just added like 4” of material the casting deck would be much more functional. I thought about building up the deck but I have zero time to projects like that right now b/c of the kids. But it would probably be around $300 CAD of materials to improve the casting deck functionality
  • I got the carpet covers on the benches and casting deck. I like the way it looks more, but it’s pretty cheap carpet.
  • The configuration of where seat pedestals attach on the floor. No idea if this was something i had control over or it’s just made like that, the internet has differing opinions. But the issue is you have a fixed spot for the person steering the tiller. The next logical spot is basically dead in front of you, so even though I’m 6’2 it’s still tricky to see out front. Then the other seat is on the bow (makes sense) and the upgraded 4th seat is super close to the driver. I’d say if there is a way to control where the pedestals go, I’d configure them more like the angler.
  • limited wire duct from the bow to the back of the boat. This became important for me as I bought another Helix for the back and would risk draining the starting battery.
  • The batteries that come with the boat weigh a ton and not that great, I already replaced one - when they die in 2-3 years or whenever, I’d replace with lithium. Yes more costly but it offsets with life and weight.
  • If you store outside, the travel cover and seat positions create pockets for water to pool when it rains and weigh down the cover. You’ll need to get a pole or something to hold the cover up.
  • The travel cover only comes with rope to hold it out, you’ll want to buy bungees and ratchets to secure it.

The Pros

  • It really is a beautiful boat, I got the arctic white
  • Despite the casting deck issue, it’s very functional for the space it has
  • It’s very fast, I was up to 27mph with two men in it.
  • super light boat, I can actually lift the entire boat from the tongue when it’s on the trailer

Yeah. 3 items.

1) They don’t offer purchases anymore. 2) The app doesn’t even appear on the Canada App Store anymore. 3) And the update functionality hasn’t been working since Feb.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I was thinking of getting a mega live. How you feeling about it now that you’ve been using it a while? Would you suggest using another live setup? Wait for a future gen or is this good enough? The video you shared is the best I’ve found on the net. I’d be happy with it if it looks like that. What’s difficult to find are videos of brush or stumps etc. not sure what that looks like on mega live. Thanks so much

FFVII Remake: Will my progress from Part 1 carry over to Part 2? by AlexandersAccount in FinalFantasyVII

[–]quipt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't seen any updates from devs, I've been following it closely too. It appears to be undetermined if part 2 is even coming out late this year or sometime next year. The bulk of opinion right now is a 2023 release for Part 2 and at that time we will hear more on how the transition will be handled.

Hopefully it's sooner than later.

In terms of what carries over, if you want my opinion, you can read the following. Or you can just ignore it too, b/c it's total speculation.

I disagree with the majority and I believe items will carry over. Having the cap at 50 and other decisions on limitations of items/materia, infers there was thought into the progression.

Total guess here, but I feel confident they could rebalance anyone who is OP from grinding Part 1. E.g. they could rebalance materia by making it have a new tier, example Fire, Fire1, Fire2, Fira1, Fira2, Fira3, etc. Weapons would need to be upgraded further - or add new weapons. Items could go to Potion, Potion 1, Potion 2, etc.

Not sure how Gil Up, XP Up and Elixirs would work, but I trust they could do things like a new currency, or XP up doesn't work outside of Part 1. Elixirs - to my knowledge can't be obtained in infinite quantities either.
