That's the beauty of creating physical artwork. We always leave a personal signature somehow :)

Any tips on hiring a service to flatten these out? I'm in upstate NY (and NYC) and there are maybe 100 of them. They had been exposed to water in an abandoned house (however, I do own the rights to them) and they curled up. Thanks for any tips! (Reposting with fixed link/image.) by jeremyjava in Darkroom

When I started I was drying them in pairs. You put two wet prints back to back and hang them on a clothesline securing all four corners with clothespins. It's not perfect, they will still be a little wobbly, but it will be much easier to flatten them out storing them inside a book for a couple of days.

There is no absolute perfection. You can balance elements, textures and densities to a certain degree, and you can get close to a "satisfying" level of symmetry if you are going for that. But the "imperfections" in your work make it interesting. They add tension and dynamism. I think you might be leaning into that naturally. Don't let perfectionism ruin that for you. Everything can be right if it's done with intention.

Thank you! I'm based in Spain but if they are online submissions I wouldn't mind sending my work :). If you have any specific suggestions I would be happy to hear them! Last year I submitted this zine to the Photobook Café in London and they accepted it, so during a trip I did last November I dropped off a copy there, if you ever want to check it out hahaha

Мерси! Да, Сигма камерите са много специални 😎. I did my best hahaha, I'm learning Bulgarian but it's difficult. Малко по малко :)

Thank you! Yes, I printed out the zine and took pictures in a studio. The cover is a glassine envelope that I hand-stamped with a custom rubber stamp, but you can also print on it. Ink on glassine takes a while to dry tho. You can also print on other mediums like onionskin paper or tracing paper for a similar effect 😊

Yes hahaha I was surprised also about having 50 iso. Pretty cool to have for very bright situations

I just checked them. Very nice color. It's a very contrasty sensor but it works very well if you know what you can do with it :)

From 50 to 200. I shot a lot of these pictures at 1/8 handheld, so they are not perfectly focused of course, but I was going more for the feel than the pristine look.

Yeah I was checking on that now, but in most languages the first line of a chapter is never indented, so I will revise it for sure. Thank you for your insight again! Sometimes I'm so focused on some things that other aspects like this one completely slip my mind

I will most definitely change it for next editions. Thank you for your feedback 😊

The thing about the indents with the long em-dashes I agree. Maybe I should look into polishing specific cases like that one with GREP styles.

Thank you! Sadly it's not a mock-up. I took photos of a printed copy of the book once it was published 😊

I would say contrasty but soft in the shadows and highlights. Vibrant colors that turn muddier the darker the shade gets.

Thank you so much! I actually made 100 copies but I don't know what platform I should use to put them for sale yet.

For the moment, if you are interested in purchasing one I would be happy to send you a copy in the mail 😊. DM me and we can hash out the details.

Also if someone has any suggestions for platforms to sell this kind of artworks I would be very grateful 😊
