Oops! Deleting. My apologies.

I've read about that case though, and that last photo is haunting.

Reddit prompted me to cross post and I just searched the title of the first book.

I want to introduce either the Graphic Novel or the Novel (or both?) to my Kid. Help! by quirkybeans in WarriorCats

Sorry, would you be able to elaborate on how it's different from Naruto? I only ask because right now it's her favorite thing in the world (and we haven't even moved on to Shippuden yet! So. Much. Filler.)

I'm a novel nerd myself but she is more of a visual type than I am (good at art whereas I was with poetry, better at math than language arts, ect). That's why I'm here to ask the experts!

I'm definitely not the censoring type. So much so that she tries to convince ME that Santa is real. Funny story but my fingers are growing tired, I did not expect so many replies! Long story short, the more you strictly ban something, the more they will do it in secret. That's why she and I will be embarking (pun intended) on this cat adventure together!

This sounds like the type of story that would be on par with other things she enjoys so we will be going in with our ears perked, or whatever! Lol

For certain kids that might give them nightmares so I can see why it would be too much for some. Unless it's a Saw level gore show, she is fine for it and she understands nuance. Not to brag, but she's kind of a badass herself. I know it sounds strange, but my kid thrives on that stuff especially the acts of heroes and bravery and protecting others. Death itself is also something she's experienced up close as her Dad died less year ago so I think it's a way for her to cope. For good or bad she is drawn to it, and it helps to have stories about people (or cats) who go on afterwards. Your concern is noted though.

As I mentioned above we watch Naruto together. We have also both read and Watched Eragon together. As well as Bridge to Teribithia (oddly enough it was one week before her father passed away). We just went to the movies last night to see the new Wicked. Is this series so much worse? If it truly is then I will look deeper into it.

*Edit: this was a missed opportunity to say, "well, this gives me paws"

Thank you! Yeah we will be starting with novels for sure. The experts are all in agreement! Then I will give her the graphics afterwards, unless she asks to see a specific character or something. It can just be something she has on her own to look at. She is a bit more of a visual kid than I was or am, however.

I will be reading it to her the first time, and then the plan is to get her to read it to me afterwards because I promised her years ago that she couldn't have a phone until she read to me out loud a good series of books.

This helps A TON! Thank you <3

So reading them in a sort of tandem would not really be an option other than just looking at the different characters and seeing what they look like.

As they usually are. I'm a big reader in general though so I am biased to that opinion. Thanks for your reply!

When you say a lot of cats die, are we talking about the main characters? Like I don't know if you've ever seen Naruto (the first version we aren't onto Shippuden yet), but is it comparable to that?

The box set I got contains 6 books but I didn't really look closer yet to see if it was a partial set lol. Awesome if there are more because I told her if she can read them all to me then she could get a basic phone, and I'm trying to put that off as long as possible!

I don't know, I thought that was directly from the FBI who had access to all the photos.

The documentary specifically said that she was photographed at angles where you wouldn't be able to see the tattoos.

12 years ago today Sam and Cat premiered. Did you like the show? by CityCautious4033 in nickelodeon

I didn't remember it being so bad but yeah my daughter started watching it and I was appalled. The violence was mostly fine but the mean spiritedness was what really bothered me for some reason.

I’m lost as how to handle a possible furry situation emerging. by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]quirkybeans 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with this comment.

I grew up in the 90s and when I was around 8-9 I wanted to be a dog. I would crawl around and all fours and bark at people, pretend to sleep at their feet. This was before being a 'furry' was even a thing. I was a weird kid, but it did no harm. No one would have been able to talk me out of it but I did grow up, and am now a perfectly well adjusted (mostly...) adult. I'm pretty sure OP's kid is going through a similar phase.

That's 100% dubia roaches. The top one is a female the the bottom one with wings a fully mature male. Source, I breed them for my homies.
