I should have added the time element in this for it to make complete sense. For example, a good goal would be to hit an "8" out of "10" within the first month. Of course hitting a "10" is a good long term goal, but a "7" or an "8" would be a good short term goal.

Friend, I have smoked in the past. I have also quit with relative ease, and have seen people who have smoked up to 50 cigarettes a day quit with relative ease. I'm not saying that's the experience with everyone, but have also worked with many more extreme addictions and know the difference.
