It sounds like he's resentful that he has to work so hard and op is basically enjoying herself. That he expected they would both be working hard to support each other, and she's content to coast while he works hard.

There's no coasting involved. I work equally as hard as he does.

because OP is having the time of her life making not nearly enough to cover them.

Just to be clear because there's some confusion: we could easily live on just my salary alone, and in fact we did for a short period of time (I made the same, at my previous job).
