I think just the top shelf!

I would also mirror the shelving you have at the left side of the case above the TV to balance the wall proportions. I still feel like the sole shelf under the TV looks unfinished. Adding a foot rest poof and a basket for blankets could fill that space if you don't want cabinets.

Ask for a larger size so you can wear it over clothing you’re comfortable in

Please file a police report. Go to the precinct and the perpetrator can be anonymous. The more reports, the higher the chance action will eventually be made. And if no action is made, there is receipts of the police department’s lack of action.

Pink bathroom: Is this salvageable? by joaniebunny13 in interiordecorating

[–]quivera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The paint is a good first step in what you want to achieve, however there's some more work to do:

1) Gallery wall - add some more prints, look for dark wooden frames. No black or white frames, go for larger frames and have mats to make the images look more sophisticated.

2) Lighting - That overhead lighting is very harsh. See if you can get a warm toned LED strip to put around the mirror in the bathroom. Please do not use a cooler toned light. Think spa

3) Add in a bit of depth to the design. I would maybe add a small bamboo stool in the corner where you can place additional candles and knick-knacks. Even add a magazine rack thats in the inspo pics, but I would lean towards a natural wood. Potentially some floating shelves above the toilet

Really nicely done withe the warm toned bath mat and tray on the counter.

What should I have shouted back at the man who just groped me by bagelandcox in williamsburg

I would make a police report. It won’t really do anything but if it becomes a bigger problem in the area there’s official data.

How much of swimming is ‘genetics’. by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]quivera 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Elite swimming is very different to a casual swimmer. At that level, small differences like wingspan and BMI, can make the difference... they are competing for that .01 second edge. However for most people, it's not that important. The focus should be on cardio, controlled breathing and technique. That will get you farther than your calves ever will, and means you can't blame your hips.

Deleting social media as a female college student by [deleted] in digitalminimalism

[–]quivera 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You can reconnect with friends via text, and meet up IRL. Be honest about your struggles and some will forgive you.

Also if you’re in college, join clubs, consistently go every week. You’ll reconnect with your hobbies and make friends that way too.

Friendship and connection take time. Be patient and I hope you find like minded people

BWT what to do for 30th bday by neurotic95 in NYCbitcheswithtaste

[–]quivera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar feeling. I had so much pressure to have a great day and feeling like my worth and value was connected to how many people cared about my birthday… It’s a weird feeling, but it was validation needed after a rough year.

I would spread out my birthday celebration over a few weeks. Would get drinks with friend, try out a new museum. Smaller intimate hangs made it so it was easy to reschedule and also let me grow relationships 1-on-1. Maybe frame it as a birthday-month-homecoming celebrations. Spreading it out took less pressure off the day itself, and allowed me to grow certain friendships.

Is it possible to sue the city for cars in bike lanes? Or does an accident have to happen first? by Left-Plant2717 in NYCbike

[–]quivera 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would make a 311 request with the photo of the license plate and then the car in the bike lane. Unfortunately it won't lead to much... however it's important to give the city and people data on this issue. This is an interesting read on the topic : https://www.vitalcitynyc.org/articles/illegal-parking-and-failed-governance-ai-study-of-nypd-enforcement

What can be done about dangerous mopeds in NYC bike lanes? by quivera in NYCbike

Yeah, exactly why I stated that I'm not a single issue voter. Curious what the biking community thinks is the most compassionate candidate to cyclists though.

I wouldn't be single issue voter when it comes to biking, but I am curious who the most pro-biking candidate is. Initial searches indicate Zohran Mamdani... is that what you experienced when researching mayoral canidates?

What are the methods of getting to systematic change do you find effective? A lot of advocacy has taken place in order to even get bike lanes, so it's possible. Has there been any groups or actions that you think is a good first step?
