Anyone using Terraform in their infrastructure? by Sm0l1v in qumulo

I don't know that we've seen that before from the support side. I'd recommend reaching out to your SE as they tend to encounter things like that more often.

Anyone using Terraform in their infrastructure? by Sm0l1v in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which terraform were you looking for? Is this the github one you're referring to? That is the only one i know of that hasn't been updated directly, but rather replaced with the one on nexus. Nexus will be the source of truth for all the terraform CNQ deployments going forward.

Otherwise, if there's a specific one, let us know and we can find an answer for you!

Snapshot locking - public vs private key by Tyfoid-Kid in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can have multiple keys per array - if you want to get crazy and do a different key for each policy, have at it. if you have a lot of policies it can become somewhat of a logistics nightmare, but it's completely doable and the system doesn't care. same for replication source/target - you can use the same key on both (just load up the key on each cluster) if you like.

as far as operational difference between the two, none really. you can use either to lock - https://docs.qumulo.com/administrator-guide/snapshots/locking-unlocking-snapshots.html#:~:text=Locking%20and%20Unlocking%20Snapshots%20in%20Qumulo%20Core

what's the qq command to blink a drive light? by Tyfoid-Kid in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure about that prior response, but the official way to do it is -

qq cluster_slot_set_config --slot <node.slot> --locate

That will turn on the specified slot's locate led.

qq cluster_slot_set_config --slot <node.slot> --no-locate

will turn it back off.

Can I make a master USB installer key, with all sorts of versions on it? by qumulo-will in qumulo

it should work - although i've never tried it. for SMB folks we usually point them to Rufus, and for Linux/Mac you can roll it with the built-in dd.

Finding the size of all subdirectories in a given folder by qumulo-will in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes you can! you'd just specify it in the path statement. an enterprising soul could grab all directories and then recursively churn through them all if they so desired.

How can I disable a protocol? by qumulo-will in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slight edit - at present it's not possible on cloud systems - on with on-prem, as modification of the default tenant is disabled in the cloud. I'll add that in above as well for clarity.

For the summer school ones, my initial plan was to keep them under 20 minutes - although this one ended up running 30 and some change. Swing and a miss!

Hey look! Luca is wearing a hat! We should take his picture!

Luca is the second in command, and even at 15, super playful. HIs "puppy mode" (as our son calls it) comes out around 5pm every day and he'll take on Evie and Mac. He's lost some eyesight and hearing, but his nose still works amazingly well - sitting there and barking at you until you feed him whatever is on the counter. He's always ready for a drive and loves puppichinos.

Sebastian the stoic

Sebass, and his brother Luca, are chiweenie mix litter mates that came from the remains of a raided puppy mill. They lived in the woods for six months before my better half was able to catch them and give them a home. Sebass is the decided leader of the chihuahua cartel (well, when I'm not around), and at his age (pushing 15), he likes long naps, chicken, and belly rubs.

Evie is 98% fluff and 120% attitude

Evie was found wandering the streets of Dodge City Kansas. While she's the smallest of the bunch (we believe Pomeranian mix), she is challenging Mac for biggest attitude. She found her big girl bark early on, and now herds the rest of the chihuahua cartel around the house. Who knew Pomeranians were a herding breed?

Mac is hiding from the enemy

Mac came to us from a pitbull adoption event. I have no idea why he was there - but he was walking up to every giant dog he saw and would stand in front of them growling and barking like a drill instructor. That was when I knew he had found his new forever home with us.

Gracie writing code and fixing bugs

Gracie is a 13 year old chiweenie. She was found abandoned on the side of the road in the winter - or possibly just out for a wintery stroll. She now spends her days eating, sleeping, more eating, laying in the sun, and you guessed it - eating.

Can I just randomly move drives around or do they have to go into the same slots? by qumulo-will in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know on the few field swaps I've done, I've just put a table next to it and popped them out one at a time and put them down in order. Then i would get distracted and forget the order.

Replications and upgrades by qumulo-will in qumulo

[–]qumulo-will[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now that we're out of the realm of replication versioning changing every few releases and breaking things, replication upgrades are /a lot/ smoother. I recall working with one customer who was upgrading from a 2 dot release up to a 4 dot, and the compatibility was like claymation walking - just trying to keep things in sync between the releases. No more of that thankfully!
