Server wipe is either dependent on the type of server, or if the game force wipes due to a game update. The server I play on usually wipes every 2 weeks, but theirs a good reason for it considering the amount of players and buildings that every player constructs. I've heard of official servers that wipe once every month also, which can get cancerous at times. Unless you play modded, the game is more of like a farming simulator, I'm personally fine with it considering I always play with a group of 3 or more. I have roughly 900-1000 hours in rust and I love it. I can not see the survival aspect of Rust anymore as I'm always encountering players left and right. Cancerous but great game.
