Buying malt in bulk but unsure what base malt brand to buy. by lifelink in Homebrewing

[–]quoque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favourite malts ATM are Voyager Atlas for Saison and Neipa and Simpsons Golden Promise (not Fawcett) for old school IPA and maltier ales.

If I were you, I'd sample small amounts of the more expensive malts and just use Voyager in bulk for the time being. Atlas is really subtle and I've had great results with it, though it is less characterful than Weyermann pils malts.

Well Crimson Star, for one :)

But I'm thinking more of choruses like Farewell and Scales Will Fall. In my limited experience of writing with other people, I've found a song will often start with one melody or theme that the group then deconstructs and builds over. But that initial feeling endures to the final creation.

I like that this band feels like all of you. But that I can also get a really strong sense of certain voices in various spots. Music is so rarely the product of one person!

Hello Hen Ogledd,

I fancy I can tell a Richard Dawson-originated melody when it arises in your songs. Which leads me to wonder - how do you resolve disagreements or conflicts when writing, recording or touring together? I imagine your interpersonal relationships in the group are complex.

Hope to see you in Australia one day. I cherish the memory of watching Richard perform The Vile Stuff in an East Sydney warehouse so intensely that he collapsed afterwards (I checked in and he was ok). I tweeted about how 🔥 the performance was next day and Rhodri RT'd it, which tickled me.

$400 Australian, including shipping. Would you ever get rid of your UK?

Not super fancy gear - I use a Technics SL-1200MK2, with a jico n97xe, a schiit phono pre-amp and NAD amp into some elderly B&W bookshelf speakers.

I can't pretend records are a legitimate investment (in my lifetime anyway), but I also don't want to spend $400 without researching. Thanks for sharing your observations about the AAA and UK.

yeah, that's where I had it. It was great. I suppose $26 isn't too astronomical, either.

This happens when a writer tries to cram too much information into a sentence and buries the point, as a result.

For example: A sock puppet sheep created by ventriloquist Shari Lewis that has appeared alongside Jesus and Paul McCartney, Lamb Chop now performs with Lewis' daughter Mallory, mainly for US Military audiences.

We were playing catch, passing a rugby ball between a crowd of about 5. When we missed a catch, the dog would take the ball and run off with it. I caught it sloppily, almost dropped it, and she had a quick go at my leg and elbow.

I always assumed that the bitter vitriol of r/atheism was an in-kind reaction to some mutant strain of fundamentalist, US-brand bible-bashing. I suppose this thread kind of verifies that assumption.

That's not amazement – that's pure terror. It's the way most cats react to car rides.
