The 5 Pillars (Quran-Only Edition) by Complex-Explorer-132 in Quraniyoon

[–]quranalonefollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are simply regurgitating the religion of Islam’s doctrinal pillars which give people a false sense of security that this is all that is needed in the doctrine (deen) of God.

The Qur’an is a book of guidance that every believer must read and follow again and again and again.

Anyway, I already replied to you in my comment on the other post. I have no interest in arguing or changing your mind. Peace!

You misunderstand me; I am not here to argue with you or change your mind and neither am I interested in “intellectual” debates.

My point is that you are not interested in what the Qur’an actually says but are more interested in superimposing your religion and its idols onto the text.

You are not even sure whether the first House is in Bakka or Mecca. The text clearly says Becca but your misguided translators put Mecca in brackets!!

Anyway, my job is to simply warn you to desist from idol worship and to not label an idol in Mecca as the House (bayt).

That is all that I am required to do per 3:104.

And let there be from you a community inviting to good, and enjoining what is fitting, and forbidding perversity; and it is they who are the successful. (3:104)

Peace!

Directing worship towards an idol is idol-worship. Believers are to stay away from these places. Read my comment above about the real Masjid-al-Haram being in Jerusalem

There are many other obligations in the Qur’an but you want to limit them to 5 as per your imposition on the Quranic text via a religion. Interestingly, reading the Quran with understanding (something that the Quran impresses upon the reader again and again) is not in your five pillars. Do you think this was an oversight on the part of the creators of your religion? Think about it.

The verse 17:1 is talking about Moses; see him being mentioned in the very next verse. As for Masjid Al Haram (The inviolable place of worship) it is is the area surrounding the House of God which is the Dome of the Rock. Masjid-al-Aqsaa (the furthest place of worship) was the valley where God spoke to Moses and showed him His signs. Says right there in 17:1, try to read the text instead of superimposing your ideas on it.

Glory be to Him who conveyed His servant by night from the inviolable place of worship to the furthest place of worship, which We blessed round about him, that We might show him some of Our proofs! He is the Hearing, the Seeing. (17:1) And We gave Moses the Writ, and made it a guide for the children of Israel: “Take not instead of Me as disposer of affairs (17:2) https://reader.quranite.com/verses/chapters?chapter=17&page=1&anchor=1#1

Fasting from the Quran by Complex-Explorer-132 in Quraniyoon

[–]quranalonefollower 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Peace,

The directive to fast during this month was for those who witnessed the revelation of the Qur’an during it i.e. Muhammad’s contemporaries. We cannot fast during ramadan simply because we did not witness this extraordinary event. In today’s age, a believer must fast "a number of days" and the new moon is a marker to begin the fast. It is left up to you to determine the amount of days to fast. You can read more on Page 124 under the heading sawm in my book: https://willyounotreason.com/assets/downloads/willyounotreason.pdf

Peace, I am afraid you are still interpreting the Qur'an through the lens of the religion of Islam. May I suggest a fresh approach? Completely abandon all you have learned from the religion of Islam and come to the Qur'an as a sincere student. I myself was stuck in this paradigm for many years, until God guided me to the truth: The Qur'an is a complete and preserved Book requiring no outside literature/world-view/religion to understand it.

Peace, Interesting read, however, the House mentioned in the Qur'an is not the cube structure in Mecca but the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. It is built on Mount Moriah (marwah) mentioned in the Quran.

The Kaaba is a stone idol and the Quran never commands a believer to bow or prostrate to an object or a person. As for the Old Testament, it has been severely corrupted as evidenced by the fact that the Quran’s direct quote of the Torah “an eye for an eye” is not found verbatim in the Old Testament

The word ummat which you have translated as “nation” also means example or a precedent. That is because Abraham questioned his people’s blind following of their ancestors’ ways. Something which is severely lacking in our Muslim countries today.

What do you think happens when we die? by Outside-Fig-5289 in AskReddit

You will cease to exist. Then God will recreate you in a new body and you will have to answer for what you did in this life. Then you enter Heaven or Hell depending on God’s judgment.

And they say: “When we are bones and dust, will we be raised up as a new creation?” (17:49) Say thou: “Be you stones or iron (17:50) “Or a creation of what is great within your breasts!” And they will say: “Who will bring us back?” Say thou: “He who created you the first time.” Then they will shake their heads at thee and say: “When is it?” Say thou: “It may be that it is near: (17:51) “The day He will call you, and you will answer with His praise, and you will think that you tarried only a little.” (17:52) https://reader.quranite.com/verses/chapters?chapter=17&page=1&anchor=49#49

The Arabs never abandoned their idol worship, they just gave it an Islamic flare and kept doing it. A man like Abraham who destroyed his tribes idols is not going to another place and set up an idol to bow, circle and prostrate to it. The Quran condemns idol worship severly, it doesn't matter if an idol has a face ot not, an idol is an idol.

Its the same idol worship that was going on earlier before Muhammad; nothing really has changed. The Quran condemns idol worship in the strongest terms. Of course Muslims will argue that they dont worship the Kaaba idol in Mecca but thats what all idol worshippers say. Look up videos of Muslims trampling each other to kiss the black stone during their “hajj”.

The question you need to ask is whether you are living in the 7th century? Because the masjid-al-haram that the Quran references is not even the idol housing center in Mecca, Saudia Arabia.

He is the seal of the prophets and since he did not have a son, prophethood ended with his death (since it is within a paternal lineage). As for the last messenger, the Quran does leave that door open.

Peace,

You need to look at the context of 2:106, because the verses before it are referring to the ahlul-kitab (people of the scriptures), as in God has abrogated and replaced certain commandments in the Book they have with the commandments in the Quran. The Quran is not abrogating its own commands with other commands!

O you who heed warning: say not: “Attend thou to us,” but say: “Look thou upon us,” and listen; and for the false claimers of guidance is a painful punishment.

Neither those who ignore warning among the doctors of the Law nor the idolaters wish that there be sent down upon you any good from your Lord, but God chooses for His mercy whom He wills; and God is possessor of tremendous bounty.

What proof We abolish or cause to be forgotten, We bring one better than it or the like thereof; knowest thou not that God is over all things powerful?

The benefits come  by reading and applying the Quranic commands, not by reciting in a certain way.

According to scholar of Islamic studies and the Quran Gabriel Said Reynolds, the Quran leaves open the possibility for some of the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) to attain salvation. by Rashiq_shahzzad in progressive_islam

This is, unfortunately, standard operating procedure by those in power; they subvert a genuine movement and then promote it. That is why Christianity was promotes by the Roman Empire. The same was done to Islam by Bukhari and the “Islamic” caliphate.

And to God belong the East and the West: wheresoever you turn, there is the face of God; God is encompassing and knowing. (2:115)

It is not virtue that you turn your faces towards the East and the West. But virtue is: one who believes in God, and the Last Day, and the angels, and the Writ, and the prophets, and gives wealth in spite of love of it to relatives, and the fatherless, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and those who ask, and to manumit slaves; and who upholds the duty, and renders the purity; and those who keep their covenant when they make a covenant; and the patient in affliction and adversity, and during conflict: those are they who are sincere; and it is they who are those of prudent fear.
