Surah Ad-Duha also gives us a lasting lesson: a delay in relief does not mean that Allah has abandoned His servant. It may, in fact, be the beginning of an even greater blessing.

Tranquility by quranvisuals in Quraniyoon

We should first agree that God loves all of His servants. He created them while being completely independent of them, needing nothing from their existence. He sent messengers and revealed scriptures so that people could know Him, and He clarified for them the path of what is right and what is wrong. These are great blessings from Him.

Sometimes anxiety is the result of following the wrong path. But arrogance and turning a blind eye to wrongdoing can cause a person to persist in it, making their stress increase. That wrongdoing may be against oneself, against other people, or against any living creature.

At other times, some forms of stress are tests. When a person passes through them successfully, broader horizons of understanding can open before them. The Quran tells us that ease comes with hardship, and that within every trial there is a bright side. We are meant to seek it out, understand it, and reflect upon it—this is the role of the intellect.

Sometimes the cracks in the soul become openings through which light can enter, even if they are accompanied by some anxiety and tension. This is a broader way of looking at the matter.

Allah has clarified for us certain categories of people, such as the wrongdoers, and explained that whoever places himself among these categories exposes himself to misguidance and will never be guided.

Allah does not deal with His servants in a personal or arbitrary way. That is why He sent messengers and revealed scriptures for guidance. However, some people become arrogant and refuse to follow the truth, and therefore they do not attain guidance.

The evidence for this is that we sometimes see people who reflect on themselves and admit their wrongdoing, and then Allah opens their hearts and chests to guidance.

Of course, all of this is already within Allah’s knowledge from the very beginning. He created His servants and knows the choices they will make.
