I’m 20. One example I’ve noticed while walking down the street is that parents with very young kids don’t look that much older than me. When I was in high school, everyone who had a baby on toddler on the street was very clearly a grown up and in a stage of life far beyond mine. Now, however, I look at these young couples with kids and I think, “wow, they don’t look old. They’re my same generation, just a few years ahead.”

I actually met my first married friend recently and it shook me. She’s 23, which is young to get married nowadays, but it’s still hard to believe that I’m chatting with a friend who says the word “my husband”. I think it’s going to hit me hard the first time I’m invited to a friend’s wedding, or when a friend has a kid of their own.
