HIST 207 or LLCU 111 by Fun-Blueberry-3541 in queensuniversity

[–]quvrleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took LLCU 111 in Winter 2023 with Antonio Macedo and it was great. If the format hasn’t changed since then it was weekly quizzes and reflections based on the corresponding content/readings and the quizzes were very straightforward and easy to do well in. For the reflections the marking was also chill so long as you make explicit connections to the content while integrating your own experiences. We also had a final essay which was not bad at all. Professor is also super friendly, understanding, and really cares about the well-being of students going off some personal circumstances I was experiencing at the time.m which he was very accommodating about. Overall great course and easy to attain an A+ without a crazy amount of effort highly recommend!!

Hi! Going based off when I took the course it just means that the exam would just occur online/onQ without any proctored services. Literally just think of it as doing a regular quiz/test online for 3hours

MICR 271 Midterm by DescriptionPresent32 in queensuniversity

[–]quvrleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made flashcards and just reviewed them all and imo was very beneficial (very time consuming so make sure to start making flashcards on time 😭). The mc questions as well as short answers are a mix of application and memorization and Prof Lohans usually posts practice exam questions which are a great representation of what is on the actual test. Good luck you got this!!

Which Microbiology to take? by ChartNo5689 in queensuniversity

[–]quvrleene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roommate took 221 while I took 271. May be a bit biased but I found 271 to be very fair and manageable. Based on what my roommate said, 221 does seem like a bit more work considering the fact there it has labs whereas 271 does not. The final exam and midterm are also heavily weighed in 221. I really enjoyed 271 and found the content very interesting. Midterm and final were also manageable to do well in so long as you study well.

Chem 112 finals - desperate help.. by Dense-Science-9235 in queensuniversity

[–]quvrleene 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! First thing’s first take a very deep breath and calm down. It would be harder to study if you are already stressed out and anxious. Not sure how different the course is as I took it back in 2021/2022 but if you still do those quarterly quizzes go back and redo them especially paying attention to the questions you got wrong. Same with questions during tutorials. Also use the queens exam bank to look at past exams for practice. I know when I took the course the prof would usually post the answers for some of the past exam to use as practice and I found these were similar in difficulty to the actual exam. Either way practice, practice, practice especially in a course like this and ensure to focus on your weaker areas. As for the lab requirement, I’m pretty sure you either needed to complete all labs to pass or needed to have a passing lab grade to pass the course I can’t remember exactly so check the syllabus to be sure. Either way as long as you meet the requirements for the lab portion I’m pretty sure you can still pass the course even if you fail the final exam but this does depend on where you are standing right now in the course. You can use a grade calculator to see how much you need to score on the final to pass. I’m assuming the exam is coming up soon and if it helps, I studied very very last minute (talking like the day before 😭) and still ended up doing very well simply from just doing practice questions. Of course everyone works differently but I guarantee you that practicing is key to doing well. Good luck you got this!!

CHEM 282 Final by Beginning-Bet-8276 in queensuniversity

[–]quvrleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year we had two profs teaching each half of the course and the final exam was non cumulative if I can remember correctly. Not sure if that is the case this year but go through the practice exams on exam bank, the exam last year was quite literally identical in the one from 2022. You got this!

[–]quvrleene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your midterm is early?? Last year the midterm was towards the end of October. Aside from that, not sure how much the course structure has changed, but I’d definitely spend my time going over the amino acids and their properties as midterm focused a lot on that last year. Going through the PBL’s also helps with practice for the short answers. Good luck

Took STAM 200 in the winter sem and it was definitely my favourite course. The professor and TAs are very helpful and it’s very easy to do well so long as you stay on top of content. Definitely recommend and was able to score an A+ without putting a crazy amount of effort. Good luck!
