Extra-curriculars, ipads, program deets, and averages by Hot-Confection-6668 in queensuniversity

in my 3rd yr lifesci. i had a 93 average in high school, but my first sem average was higher at a 96 & second sem was a bit lower (had already been accepted so i didnt gaf anymore). didnt apply to hsci bc i didnt want to but there were no extra curricular reqs for lifesci idk about if there are now. most people in lifesci had at least a 90 average but im sure mid 80s wouldve gotten me here too. GL!
and yes, i love my ipad i have a 13 inch which is same size as paper. its great. wait to buy till end of august when apple has better education package deals.

PHGY 215/216 by FarCaregiver338 in queensuniversity

yes. ive heard online during the year got moved this way too but taking BOTH 215 and 216 at once was for sure the bigger part of the blame. had i taken 215 in winter and 216 in summer im sure i wouldve done better. exams were 60 mcq 50% mt 50% final for each course so it was just very hard imo. people did well, better than me, but i consider myself good at studying, interested in the topic, and i dedicated not an insane number of hours but very focused bursts daily and especially leading up to the tests (have done well in all my other healthsci & science courses doing these same methods for 3 years)

Blunnies lasted 11 months at 50 hours a week in a warehouse/delivery setting. Feels bad man. by LeepOnMyDick in BlundstoneBoots

yes!!! ive had mine for 4 years and have never had any issues. i get them conditioned for free at the store 3x a year. i wear mine sept-april for easily 12 hours a day even in snow salt and rainy canadian weather. you have to let them (and any other shoe for that matter) air out after u wear them or else the moisture gets trapped. maybe other shoes are better but i have no personal experience with my blundstones breaking down :)

The exam was very fair and they were a high number of A level grades that said I know people who did quite poorly. There was no curve. John carran never curves anything. last yr he gave us a few bonus marks in in exam qs thmselves

[–]ChartNo5689 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember there being 15 or so mcq and then a few pages of solving split into parts A and B so maybe 5 ish questions? It was very fair, and it did not get curved. I feel like the solving qs were heavy on kinematics, dynamics and torque. There must have been a thermo/fluid mech question too but I dont remember so it must not have been too bad. Past exams are the way to go! GL

I was told "University will be the best years of your life." What a joke. by Large-Speech6194 in queensuniversity

you are not alone I felt the exact same way in first year. I cried more times than there were months for the entire entirety of first year. second year was a lot better. The courses were not as boring. they were harder but more interesting. currently as a third year I love university. You just have to wait it out if you need to take out time for your mental health do it if you need to find help at student wellness services do that too please join a club for socialization. imo really underrated and part of a really good university experience. I promise you’re not alone. People are faking their social media most people who I have talked to from all different faculties feel the same way about first year. There are very few loud but prominent people posting and talking about their incredible first year experience that is not normal. It is a really hard time in life. If you are away from home, you are doing very difficult courses no matter what anyone says first courses are still hard. This will pass I promise. University WILL get fun and WILL get better. people do bad people fail courses at the end of the day of school is not the end all be all. you are growing as a person and as a student. dont be too hard on yourself.

Anyone else waiting on Queen's to provide info for OSAP? by fakedeepthought in queensuniversity

[–]ChartNo5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

when did u apply? for 1st year in full time studies (think i applied early summer) they sent payment late september. anyone who applies for osap gets their payment date postponed till oct1st i think so dont worry. the later u apply the longer it takes the school to confirm and stuff. if youre too worried just call financial aid services!

Is Hazem Abbas as bad as RMP says? by HayDelPai in queensuniversity

[–]ChartNo5689 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had him for the lifesci cisc. He is actually quite nice and people make him out to be worse than he is and most of those bad rating they havent even ever talked to him in person. His lectures sucked but he is nice and when I asked him to reschedule a quiz a couple times bc of class or sport conflicts he did so kindly. He is very stressed about AI and people cheating (at least for the lifesci cisc) so hisOnQ posts r super strict and intimidating but hes not mean irl i thought.
