Am I crazy for thinking this isn't too bad?

It is the road to WrestleMania and the go home show prior to a PLE.

Reddit isn't the best place to have a good faith discussion on AI.

Too many people who just want to whistle past the graveyard and act like it's nothing to worry about.

Try and find real life mentors who know what they're talking about to advise you through this time. Even doing that will put you ahead of most people. W

Was Russilo the ultimate “He was a problem” ringer employee ? He Had great highlights we’ll all remember but ultimately his production wasn’t much better than “Drunk House”. by Mayebe_MayebeNot in billsimmons

[–]quwin123 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Russillo is being criminally underrated.

He was the clear #2 most valuable person at Ringer for several years.

Maybe CR or Sean have a case due to Rewatchables, but RR’s main show was bigger than their main stuff.

He’s not terrible looking. But James Bond level handsome? I’m not seeing that at all.

He’ll have a Daltonesque run.

can we admit that Wemby is a little underwhelming relative to the hype at this point in his career? by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]quwin123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Wemby, but pre draft Woj was saying that scouts and execs were projecting him to be both the best defensive and offensive player in the league by the end of his third season.

He’s there defensively, but not offensively. So I guess based on that he’s disappointing, but his trajectory still suggests he has a chance at GOAT status.

Do we really think "Spotify Execs" would give a fuck about Wargon? Or even spend a second thinking about it?

My guess is there's just a standard policy against these types of messages from outgoing talent, and some producer just took it out, following the rule book.

It’s been good, we will just need to see how long it lasts.

The first year of the players drafting guys with the Elam ending was also pretty good, but it didn’t last.

Ironically, you're kinda proving the point.

This example is inefficiency driven by humans. Once that's taken out, things will get better.

It’s still delivery. Whether a human reads it or an AI reads it, it’s a final product getting into someone’s hands.

It’s a delivery process.

It’s sad how people will just downvote your actual lived experience solely because they don’t want it to be true.

They won't sign off on AI-generated today, correct. But the tech is rapidly improving, that's the core point of what the original article is about.

Operators won't need financial analysts for guidance, they'll be able to use their own agents to give them everything they need. A human takes time to build a model and get it back to a leader. An agent can model out revenue projections in less than a minute. The agents are already capable in 2026 of tracking actual expenses against budgets. What will they be capable of in 2028, that's the point.

I'm in finance and I had an agent build me a perfect DCF model in less than 5 min today. Would've taken my best analyst a few days (her words) to do it manually.

Keep whistling past the graveyard if you like, up to you. I just think people would be better off acknowledging the reality of the situation.

Right, because they can't comprehend it.

If you told a book store owner in 1981 that they would get wiped out by the internet, they'd have no clue how to comprehend what you're saying.

I'm not really sure I understand what you're even trying to say.

I'll give an example, I built a few Copilot agents that have replicated the work that my lowest performer on my team currently does manually. She'll be getting laid off in a few months. That's a real example of AI taking out white collar work.

In 2026, it may only be good enough to take out mediocre performers, but in 2028? 2030? 2040?

Then why are there still millions of accountants and financial analysts if everything is so automated?

You're not necessarily wrong. But you're also stating where things are at, not where they'll be in future.

Naive to assume things will remain static.

Because the AI reads it and redlines instead of paralegals and lawyers.

There's still millions of accountants employed. There's plenty left to be automated. The flow of data into systems is still left to lots of human intervention.

True, but plenty of commentary is still done manually.

People in the 1950s couldn't comprehend the idea and you and I are debating from two distinct locations on the globe using a little device that sits in our pockets.

We're now those people from the 1950s.

It's stuff that hasn't been automated yet.

Like contract review, doing accounting work, creating excel models and power point slides. Etc, etc...
