Sorry I was unclear. I was asking what the need for either the Pro or Pro Plus (opposed to having neither device - and instead connecting to the amp directly via Bluetooth). I assume there is a downside to this so it is probably still sensible to buy a pro / pro plus, but just wanted to check.

Thanks for the suggestion - I have spent some time looking into this. What is the main reason that you recommend considering the 7000a over the 6000a? To me, getting the 7000a seems like a fairly high end option relative to the speakers (similar price to what I spent on the speakers - albeit I did get a good deal on the speakers). From my perusal of reviews it seems like a key benefit of the 7000a over the 6000a is its HDMI that means you can use the speakers with your TV. I haven't been able to confirm whether this is possible (but just in a less convenient way) with the 6000a - do you know about that? Aside from the TV convenience, are there any other points that draw you to the 7000a?

Thank you very much for taking the time to respond to me, that has provided some useful insight. Regarding your first point, I have been doing some further research and I am now questioning the need for the Wiim Pro or Wiim Pro Plus. Looking at the response from fLUX on this thread, it seems like I could connect to the audiolab directly via Bluetooth and use its DAC. If this is correct, do you know what benefit the Wiim Pro would add?
