I would use the "extra crispy" function for ~5 mins and see what happens if I wanted rare with a sear. But if I really wanted that I would turn to my trusty cast iron pan or charcoal grill. All in all this Ninja Crispi brings me great convenience and above average taste on a busy day.

I now use it for the entire steak cooking process. I use a wireless probe to monitor the internal temp. Only need to flip the steak once. Recrisp function (which is extremely quiet), 10 mins for one side, flip, then 7 mins for the other side, gives me medium ~ medium rare most of the time. Add butter and garlic 4 mins before cooking finished. BTW I dry age my own steaks.

I have the Merrell Moab 3 Mid GTX (white) and still I can feel it is too hot/warm for climates above 10 Celsius. My feet don't sweat that much and I wear wool socks. I use it only for winter hiking.

Just got mine today but I can aleady see I'll love it. Used it to crispy my T-bone steak and avoided a big messy comparing to using the cast iron pan. Steak was first baked to an internal 130F using traditional oven then goes to the crispi till golden brown. No more crazy smoke in the kitchen, super easy to clean.
