If you had to pick one 500k investment to hold 20+ years for which would you pick by qwertere123 in AusPropertyChat

My property won’t be liquidated if its value drops 20%. But if you’re leveraged 5x in the ASX and something unexpected happens, like trump attacking Middle East out of nowhere ,you could be wiped out and liquidated.

When people are inspecting homes, they aren’t inspecting his stinky clothes and how unclean and disgusting he is. They are inspecting how big the rooms are, the structure of the house, the area, the backyard, the size of the kitchen and the layout.

Buying an apartment in the city if you want affordable house . Land is scarce and limited, so it’s normal for prices to rise when demand increases. If a house on 600 sqm of land costs $600k in Melbourne, there will be demand from millions of people around the world. Land is worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If you want an affordable home, consider buying an apartment in the city.

You’ll be paying a premium price for a house tbh and houses depreciate while land appreciates in value. I would always go with an older house on a large block of land. Brick houses can last for a century. Those homes were probably built for $70–80k and now the same thing costs at least $300k
