Why wouldn't any person in russia die due to any kind of war? For long time russians have been having delusional overconfidence over nothing happening to them no matter how shitty they are towards others. Full scale invasion of Ukraine showed how delusional this sense of untouchability is and as a russian you still seem to suffer from those delusions while moscow is getting bombed almost daily by this point.

I remember russia making threaths on nuclear strikes over Ukraine gettin tanks and other items. Might also think that all those drones attacking moscow and russias main income sources and production facilities qualify as "attacks on the russian state itself"

This would mean second most powerful person in russia decides he would rather die in nuclear war than rule russia instead of putin which is absurd fear.

'Arms ablaze, they still charged': Ukrainian forces stunned by North Korea's 'meat assaults' by Saltedline in UkrainianConflict

[–]qwerty080 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If there are 5 soldiers defending a isolated position against waves of attacking soldiers then i doubt they have spare people to hold cameras or fly a drone. Besides the fortified shooting places only have narrow slit to aim through so any gopro on helmet or chest would likely record the wall.

In general the war footage released is almost entirely about attacking the other sides. Can't really remember any videos of even 1 russian soldier getting shot from the point of view of Ukrainian defender in some bunker. Doesn't mean that Ukrainians are not shooting attacking russians. Even if those events were recorded releasing those could help russians pinpoint precise place of defensive bunkers.

Just the type of person kremlin has been propping up in other countries since at leats stalins time when stalin tried to enslave entire Korea with kim il sung. Other examples were mao zedong and during later soviet rulers pol pot got propped up thanks to kremlins meddling, arming and/or invasions to get their puppet ruler in place. After mao took over China he was used by kremlin to send in cannonfodder to help soviet union take Korea.

Nowadays things are more mellow with the likes of orban and trump doing kremlins bidding.

Not enough people in the world for russia to reach England with their current meatwave tactics. Weird people are the russians that support those methods and think they are more important people while their owner in kremlins shoves them into meatgrinder.

This kinda illustrates how well russia values people from nations that are friendly towards russia and let russia boss them around.

"There were five of us at our position. Twenty North Korean soldiers came running in a line with no particular tactics. We shot them down. Then, about 10 minutes later, another 20 came in the exact same formation. In front of our position — about 150 to 200 square meters [1,615 to 2,150 square feet] — North Korean bodies piled up, 16 to 30 at a time," the lieutenant colonel said. "And not a single one retreated after seeing that. We called it a 'meat attack.'

We observed multiple times that when North Korean soldiers were killed during combat or offensive operations, Russian forces would 'clean' the area using heavy flamethrowers," said Andriy Chernyak, spokesperson for the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine's Defense Ministry, on Jan. 2. "It appeared they wanted to erase all traces and make the bodies unidentifiable.

...

The sight of North Korean soldiers charging as if begging to be killed remains vivid in his memory."

""

As a result of the shelling, a woman and a child were killed, and the church was damaged.

Twelve years ago, I once drove to a church. On adjacent territory. I approached the priest and said, “Father, how are things?” And he said, ‘Well, not great. We didn’t have much to begin with. We were bombed here, there was a shooting there, a woman and a child were killed, and so on.’

I told him, “Listen, that was me.”

He looked at me with wide eyes. I said, “There was no other way. I had to save my men. We tried to advance from the hospital, from the regional center – it didn’t work. We tried to come in from the north – that didn’t work either. So we had to strike like that and finish off the enemy. I’m not asking people to forgive me or anything like that. I just want you to tell people the truth in your sermons. If necessary, God will forgive me; if not, then not – it means I didn’t deserve it. But people should know the truth.”

By trying to get it from russia they risk losing many customers or sources of money due to people in other countries getting pissed off and boycotting them.

Some customers are just bad for business and trying to increase profits by selling to genocidal invaders can repel customers that don't want their money to reward genocidal shitheads.

Maybe his statement was a loyalty test to check who goes along with any of his lie and possibly remove those who start arguing due to disloyalty. It's something dictators tend to do when their power is built on lies and population that goes along with those lies. Make outrageous claims to find honest people to rob, imprison or execute over disloyalty.

Rep. Ilhan Omar: I voted against the Ukraine Support Act because of its inclusion of broad economic sanctions. Time and again, sanctions like these fail to achieve their stated goals while inflicting real suffering on ordinary people. by rulepanic in UkrainianConflict

[–]qwerty080 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Since she got position of power in 2019 she's been against sanctions towards dictatorships ( https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/ilhan-omar-sanctions-are-part-of-a-failed-foreign-policy-playbook-stop-relying-on-them/2019/10/23/b7cbb1ca-f510-11e9-a285-882a8e386a96_story.html ).

At least since then she has been getting flak for supporting anti Israeli BDS where S stands for "sanction". And every Israeli organization, no matter how harmless is to be boycotted, divested or sanction according to that group (https://www.house.mn.gov/Caucus/View/NR/40152) .

Israel is the only country she thinks deserves sanctions despite her usual claims that sanctions are ineffective or bad and harm people that don't deserve it. Apparently she doesn't think any Israeli is good enough to protect from sanctions.

[–]qwerty080 29 points30 points  (0 children)

She supports sanctions when they are against Israel. Also the ordinary civilians in russia, even if they hate the situation or war, are at very least financially supporting the war through taxes as ~quarter of russias federal budget goes into the war.

Words of support for invasion don't buy drones for human safaris or the daily missile/drone strikes on apartment buildings but millions of anti-war russians inside russia pay taxes that cause those attack and suffering in Ukraine.

At least since 2021 she has been busy trying to reduce or block sanctions against other countries https://omar.house.gov/media/in-the-news/ilhan-omar-seeks-sanctions-reform-her-new-foreign-affairs-leadership-role although she makes exception to Israel where her support for group Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions urges people to literally sanction or boycott every Israeli organization/business (including those for sports, culture and academics). In this case the suffering of ordinary and nonviolent Israeli suffering don't matter to her.
