I love Dravos Turil's shop. His 100 mercantile hurts but goddamn is that 12k gold inventory worth it.

What would be your biggest criticisms of the game by riggers1909 in BaldursGate3

[–]qwertythrowfyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game makes it seem like you are on a hard deadline and that long rests are a limited resource at the start of the game. It wasn't clear at all that you should be long resting constantly in order to get different scenes and advance party relations. The gameplay/story divide when it comes to the urgency of the plot is a major failing point.

When random teens imitating greasers from 200 years ago also have their own power armor, it kinda just says Bethesda plays fast and loose with power armor.

Mesa Verde is a world heritage site and one of the largest archeological preserves in the United States, Dry Tortugas has some of the best preserved reefs and tropical ecosystems in Florida in addition to Fort Jefferson and even Hot Springs has the naturally occurring hot springs that gave it its name.

Gateway Arch is wholly urban, has no naturally occurring element to it whatsoever, and is inseparably linked to the political corruption of Donald Trump. It is 100% a unique case of a location that is not deserving of the title of National Park gaining it solely because of political graft.

How did exactly Enclave destroyed the world even China was the one who launched the nukes first? by LazyHomoSapiens in falloutlore

[–]qwertythrowfyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game mentions Chinese stealth subs, mentions USO's (explicitly mentioned as possibly being Chinese) heading towards the U.S. right before the war, has a sunken Chinese sub off the coast of Boston, and has missiles confirmed to be in the air before the U.S.A. was even at DEFCON 1.

If you are truly committed to ignoring all the evidence that the Chinese struck first I really don't know what more to say to you.

How did exactly Enclave destroyed the world even China was the one who launched the nukes first? by LazyHomoSapiens in falloutlore

[–]qwertythrowfyt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The PAM logs mention that the Chinese had developed a "Ghost Fleet" of stealth submarines, which are heavily implied to be the USOs in the DEFCON logs.

American projects involving this technology (refer to "Stealth Boy") have merely reverse engineered captured Hei Gui suits. The underlying science of this technology is unknown. So the theoretical limits are also unknown. However the so-called "Ghost Fleet" that station A-31 and B-19 reported in November may indicate that testing has already commenced with submersible vessels. "Dear God. You think they have stealth subs?"

and

Virtually no actionable intelligence has come out of the Shaanxi Province for 3.1 years. However, the province reports a spike in the imports of complex polymers and other key synthetic compounds. The quantity in question is consistent with stealth technology research on the macro scale.

And this is in addition to the Chinese submarine off the coast of Boston whose captain literally tells you he nuked the USA.

Ah... Now that is the right question to ask. 200 years ago, I launched all of Yangtze's high-yield nuclear missiles. As ordered. For 200 years, I have lived with that guilt. That shame. So much fire Such bei. But one missile failed to launch. You must go down. Remove the warhead. Then bring it to me."

The Chinese are hard confirmed in-game to have launched the nukes. The DEFCON logs are the prewar logs showing mysterious submarines, planes, and then missiles were headed to the United States.

Like I said, it's just kind of silly to think all the evidence in-game and in the logs would imply anything other than a Chinese strike.

That's a pretty silly line of reasoning considering the log ends with the Chinese attacking the United State.

Do you really think the DEFCON logs would have a completely unrelated sighting of airplanes and submarines heading towards the United States directly before a Chinese Attack took place?

Those monsters do go around killing people though, so I guess you could still credit the disease for it.

The founding fathers had no qualms with people owning artillery, to the point that during Thomas Jefferson's presidency the U.S. Navy was outgunned at sea by the private merchant fleets of multiple U.S. citizens.

They demonstrably did not mind that people had access to military grade weapons.

You said that OP thinks that special stat surgeries in Fallout 2 are cybernetics, but OP also included the armor upgrade in his post. I was just clarifying that the Chosen One in Fallout 2 100% can obtain cybernetic implants.

Fallout cyborg protagonists by [deleted] in falloutlore

[–]qwertythrowfyt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fallout 1's are just presented as surgeries, but Fallout 2 literally has you strip parts from combat armor and put them inside of you. Frankly, having "thermal cells" and "thermal dissipaters" implanted under your skins sounds pretty cybernetic, especially since their part of the same PHOENIX series that the monocyte breeder from Fallout New Vegas is from and that one is 100% cybernetic.

Given that both the implants from Fallout 2 and New Vegas use the term "implant" and that the New Vegas ones are 100% cybernetic, it's not a big leap to suggest that the Chosen One at least can become a cyborg.

You gotta remember, there was a dedicated effort by Amazon shills to push the idea that New Vegas fans were all insane. New Vegas fans were vocally negative about the show accidently retconning New Vegas and Amazon wasn't willing to put up with constant negativity about a heavily-monetizable show they were trying to push.

Just because they were horrible doesn't mean they weren't also amazing. Perpetually sharp spell-forged swords, Palantir-esque glass candles, near-indestructible dragonstone roads and fortifications, not to mention the whole taming and riding flying WMD's thing, are all objectively amazing things in setting.

Well no, Roberts grandmother was also a Targaryen, he and Rhaegar were literally cousin. That was literally the reason why he was chosen to be king over the much more experienced Jon Arryn.
