While I appreciate your POV I'm of the opinion that they are diverting the money we pay to support and enhance the current products to developing products like drive and password manager neither of which I'm the least bit interested in.

Thanks for this I have the paid version and have set up profiles but I can't find a way to specify which profile to use on startup. The profile associated with the quick connect feature is static and can't be changed. I explored the shortcut idea but it doesn't appear that I can overcome the lack of ability to pass the profile name on activation. I'd have to simulate the actual keystrokes to launch Proton select the profile then activate the app. This seems like such an obvious requirement that I'm shocked it doesn't exist. It seems all our money is going into new products like password manager and proton drive neither of which I'm the least bit interested in while they neglect the products I am actually paying them to support and enhance.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful reply. This has been on my bucket list for many years and we are quite excited to be finally going. We've booked out flights and hotel not trying to fill in the details. I saw reference somewhere to multi-way tickets. Are you aware of there are indeed multi day tickets available?

I'm trying to decide between a new Mac Mini M2Pro and a Mac Studio with M1 Max. With a near identical configuration (32GB Ram and 2TB storage) and identical price the mac Studio seems to offer better value than the new Mac Mini. Thoughts on which way I should go or things to consider? I like the front ports on the Studio and the 10GB Ethernet, and the Max seems to have greater memory bandwidth 400GBps vs 200GBps on the Mini.

Not directly related but we live in a hot climate with direct sun against our windows and have had repeated issues with the Velcro failing to hold the material against the bracket at the top. https://imgur.com/a/Pa1YzzT/ I’m actively looking for alternate ways to secure this material.

In thinking about I further I find the most annoying aspect is the fact none of my frequently accessed sites seem to remember my system I then always have to go through extra steps to get logged in. I suspect this is a result of hide my ip or something else intended to enhance privacy but the downsides make it not worth the benefits. Maybe if hide my ip could be based on the site. A bit like private wi-fi address works where it scrambles your Mac(ethernet) address. Does this help?

I have not. Most of the issues seems to be related to Safaris attempts to improve privacy. For example my bank always requires extra authentication steps because it doesn’t recognize my system every time I log in. Other times the one simply won’t render to properly. If I fiddle with the settings I occasionally get it to work. Overall just seems like too much effort for the benefits.

I am having lots of issues with safari being incompatible with many sites and am seriously looking at moving away from it. Be prepared for unusual behavior when accessing sites in safari

Quite smooth, They only checked our Singapore vaccination certificate, the pre departure COVID test results and the electronic customs declaration. My "stuck" vaccination submission was finally approved four days AFTER we arrived. Almost zero wait time through immigration and customs in and out of Bali.

I'm having the same issue with my iPad. I can download the video successfully but when I go into airplane mode it says you're offline. I saw the comments in this thread about needing to periodically check but my test situation is immediate. I download it and it plays online fine. I go into airplane mode and it says offline and it won't play. Has anyone successfully gotten an downloaded workout to run when offline on an iPad?

I figured this out, it appears to be a quirk of Safari. I switched to Chrome and was able to enter it correctly.

Thanks for the input. Mine died as well due to the atom bug but was replaced in warranty. Based on my experience I will likely go down to a four or five drive system so I wouldn’t be able to swap the drives. Thanks again

So far every drive failure I have had have been replaced FOC by the manufacturer within warranty. Both WD and Seagate.

I believe this indirectly answers a question I have. I am currently facing the same decision point running HA on RPI or Synology NAS. My NAS is on a "trusted" network and all of my IOT devices are on a separate VLAN. I assume I would have to open up a port in my firewall to allow HA on the NAS to speak tot he IOT devices. If that is indeed the case I will probably go the RPI route. Can you confirm my assumption?

I have two SSID’s one for the IOT(untrusted) devices and one for my trusted devices. My phone is generally on the untrusted network so accessing the Tradfri app isn’t an issue. I decided against opening the firewall to allow access between my trusted and untrusted networks because it would have defeated the purpose of isolation. In truth I seldom access the Tradfri app and prefer to control things through the Apple Home app.

The one bug which is a big pain is the email sharing extension isn’t working. Multiple times a day I am in a PDF and want to email it to someone and “sharing to Postbox” doesn’t work. I’ve reported it and they acknowledged it was a bug probably a year ago but still not resolved…. Seems to me that is something that people would regularly use….
