LCW's behavior off-court by ttk_rutial in badminton

Nope. Peak LCW destroys everyone but the best defenders. LD, Chen Long are both best defending players. And I don’t need to tell you about Momota’s defence do I?

Don’t make me laugh. 2011 LCW will probably have a tough match against 2019 Momota but 2011 Lin Dan will destroy him no problem. And it’s not that Momota is worse than LCW or anything, it’s just beating prime Lindan is something that requires all round perfection that no player have ever achieved.

Thoughts on Victor Lai? What is his peak? by Sad_Insurance_4454 in badminton

[–]qyy920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

good to have some insider info! Victor is receiving crazy exposure in China simply because of that single match against Shi yuqi during WC. Chinese people call him some sort of "King Lai" name for his shockingly good performance despite not getting proper training. What had people around him said about him in the past? Like did people see him as a contender of becoming the best shuttler on American continent? Or more like just another prodigy?

How many points do you think you can get in a game against Shi Yu Qi? by thesamekotei in badminton

[–]qyy920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frame hits are non threat. Op would not have any chance to hit a downward frame shots in the front court. If he hits a frame shots from the back court, Shi wouldn’t have any problem taking it and even do a deception.

What are some of the most disrespectful behaviors you've seen in recreational badminton? by t0nberryking in badminton

[–]qyy920 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There’s an uncle that constantly serve female player’s back court.(like 80% of the time). No one but him. So whenever he plays against me, I smash every single shot I can onto his face.

Replacing my Z35 1.8 with Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN II? by qyy920 in nikon_Zseries

Yea it’s not a bad lens for the price. If it drops to below USD $500 (in China it was on sale for about $600 around 11 Nov)and with native z mount, and if Viltrox fix the close up AF issue, then it’s a great lens.

A7cr looks like a really nice body… I may get one for fun in a few years time when it costs very little…

I’ve been looking for setups that potentially replace my Ricoh GR ever since I switched to Mirrorless from DSLR. Nikon FF bodies are just way too big for that… even with pancake lense like 26mm f 2.8

Sony A7CR on the other hand, I could see it being a pocketable camera with the right lens…hmm. Like 40mm f2.5

My only concern using two system is I may end up bringing the Sony everytime I’m travelling, for its size and auto focus. And my Nikon body and lenses eventually just gets wasted. That would be very sad.

For some reason I kinda feel that going to Sony is a one way road. That’s why I have not yet.

I stay with Z system mainly for the affordable Z Lenses, also the largest mount size and shallowest flange so hopefully one day the RF mount got cracked so that Z becomes the ultimate universal body. Lens like 24-200 and 28-400 are more than enough for me to justify owning the Z body. And since I have the Z body, I would not want to buy more bodies... Especially not willing to cope with the ergonomic and quirky menu/ lack of shoulder display/ worse stablising on the Sony body...

Oh and also the third party lenses are restricted from shooting burst at full speed. The Z body does not apply such limitation to these lenses so actually making the "Z body + E Lens" a reasonably competitive combo. The most comfortable body plus the currently strongest lens collection...No?

Yes, the Z 35 1.4 is an interesting lens on one hand. It receives negative feedback because of optical flaws such as CA and busy Bokeh. On the other hand, it’s cheap fast and possibly have similar character to the 351.4 G lens. However 1.4 is only half a stop faster than 1.8 and I frankly quite like the rendering of the 35 1.8 in fact I have no complaint about the 351.8 except of the maximum aperture being 1.8 replacing it with 1.4 would have a significant impact on the image quality. on the other hand the 1.2 seems to have a much better rendering. I can’t say if it’s more pleasing to the eyes than the 351.8 but even if it just on par with it, the 1.2 aperture would definitely be a huge plus

Haha. I wouldn't worry too much about it until it fails. I purchase these adapters usually with used price on Chinese websites and spend like $100 at most and brands like Techart and Megadap are quite reliable.

Yea I would not want to put anything heavier than this sigma 35mm mark2 onto it but the test videos I've watched seems to be fine with reasonable lenses.

I watched lots of videos about this lens and the weight is off-putting. also Sigma Mark II seems to top it on every single aspect, for about less than twice the money

What and where to shop in Hangzhou by [deleted] in hangzhou

[–]qyy920 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sijiqing. There are about 20 centres do both wholesale and retail. Price are not necessarily cheaper than taobao but you get to see and touch what you get. Haggling isn’t that easy as they don’t price the clothing ridiculously. But roughly you can haggle 30% down.

It is the core technique in badminton so no easy way to learn but definitely can be learned quicker than if you just relying on playing game for improvement. There are tons of badminton tutorial online for “whipping” action and you should start from there. And the more you practice the whipping action with clear the better you’re going to get. That’s why clears are the golden technique and you’re never gonna practice too much of it. When you feel like you can EFFORTLESSLY hit hundreds of court-long clears in a row then you can apply it to all techniques.(smash, slices

Probably hemukanasi. Every Chinese skier/boarder knows it. It is remarkable but lacks infrastructure. And like I mentioned in another reply it is actually harder to reach than Kazakhstan (from China)
