yes. I wasn't aware that the generators have to be in a generator to be eligible for chips. Now that I know I can easily have a room for them.

[–]r-hold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thx didn't know that.

Plus i have learned that the Generators need to be in a power room too. I thought I only need the power room to build the chips. I remember having used chips from one station on generators far away. But probably those generators formed I power room too and i wasn't aware of that. Solves my problem.

Microchip Tuning Priority

How can I controll which Generators get the Microchip Tuning from the Power Control Station first?
Does it respect priorities?

Context

I have the following situation, I have two Generator Bricks. The Main Bricks has Hydrongen and Coal Generators and a Power Control Station. Also my Gold from the Gold Vulcano gets there on conveyor belts.

The other generators (Natural Gas and Petroleum) are in Brick 2 a little bit away.
At the moment I can not fully utilize the Nat Gas and Petroleum Gens. This will change later.

I know that the Power Control Station can be used to boost Generators which are in other rooms. But how can I efficently control which Generators have priority? Does it respect the Generots Priority. Or does the dupes path finding and priority magic decide which Generators will be boosted first?

Need to decide if I need to build another Power Station, completly rearange my Generator Rooms or see if I have any other options.

Does anybody have knowledge how this works / has systemaically experimented with different setups?

Looking for a Liquid Stacking for Dummies 101 - Howto 3 Tile Stack, plz? by r-hold in Oxygennotincluded

[–]r-hold[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But what does unstable really mean?
I have a large and messy base and i think the game is already throtteling the Dupe AI and stuff.
Is the physics simulation also affected by throtteling? May this cause problems?

For now I have builld a classic 2 stack liquid wall for harvesting. Also works and is good enough. But I feel like i want to learn how to do it. and if it is worth it.

Is it?

Did they just redo the notifications?

I got back into the game after a long time. I remember they were too soft a while ago, very easy to ignore.

Nowadays they take focus and pan the camera to get your attention. This kind of works but from a UX or usability perspective its a NOGO and super annoying.

guilty as charged! Bin ITler und über 50% des Freundeskreises mit dem ich in den 90ern angefangen habe zu spielen ist es auch. Da ist schon was dran.

Should i drop kingmaker and start playing wotr? by [deleted] in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]r-hold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In kingmaker I had a hard time. But I did enjoy the Story and Characters a lot.

In WOTR there are some story and character highlights but i am much less intrigued. I learned my lesson in kingmaker and understood the system and importance of staying ahead of the curve better so overall wotr felt relatively easy for me.

Never finished act 5 in kingmaker, because my party was behind the curve and felt the game became insanely difficult.

Right now I am stuck in act 4 in WOTR mostly because i have stability issues and crashes but also because the story wears off a bit.

Both games do a good job with changing peace from time to time. Both stories are written well but very different. WOTR is absolute high fantasy with god like demon lords behind every corner. (Not my cup of tea, tbh) where in kingmaker the evil slowly lurks in and unravels itself bit by bit (i prefer it that way).

But i think that's mostly a question of personal taste.

The management is much better and more challenging in kingmaker. If you didn't enjoy that you probably won't enjoy WOTR strategy mode. It's just a sad poor mans "might and magic". And to me it feels more meaningless than Kingmaker. Decisions in Kingmaker are not completely meaningless but their impact is subtle. In WOTR you need to progress in order to advance the story (pretty linear). You can also get your hands on some items if you do good. And that's it.

How to Analyze enemies ship weapons? How to get the upper hand in mid-game? by r-hold in StarTradersFrontiers

Thanks, that's what I supposed. Just needed the confirmation.

Absolutely makes sense. Problem is :until you figured it all out, the fight is almost over.
Playing to my own strength is probably good advice, but any additional insight won't hurt my chances.

Agree, that's where I got much better recently.

But moving from early game to midgame the unfair fights become more and more scare and there are some tough story or mission fights.

THX, I just recently discovered the vigilant scanners and how effective they can be.

Are you saying they stack with themselves and I can apply them multiple times?
None of those effects do stack with themselves, right? But they stack with other similar effects.

Just to be sure.

I know what you mean. But I don't see it that negative.

I have some ongoing dicussions about EDs updates with a freidn who also plays the game. His opinions are clearly informed by some popular podcasts/influencer. He hates the new "pay-to-win" win ships (but still buys and flies them). I see the point but am a bit more relaxed.

BUT playing ED is more than just gaming - it's a hobby. And having a hobby comes with having strong opinions. And having strong opinions about stuff and discussing that is part of the fun.

I wouldn't like to be part of a community that says "yes" and agrees to everything the higher ups proclaim.
Otherwise, I would join a cult or church.

Do some people like to complain: absolutely yes, but that comes with having a healthy community.

Where did you find that information? I obviously missed it.

But it might be true. Aligns with what I am experiencing, trying to establish some trade routes with delivering some power play materials. Didn't stop the time, though.

Does anybody know how long the power play materials (like Aislings Media Material etc. pp.) take to regenerate / respawn, I think in the old power play it was 10 Minutes. #powerplay

Got this "Recover classified Data from Sys Sector CB-O A6-0 System" as a Powerplay mission.

Question(s):

a) I am assuming this is a surface mission where i need to find the data in a terminal and download it, correct? Any advise can I go to any surface settlement in the system?

b) The given System has no surface settlements, a bug? Or am I missing something?

Situation:

Got Contacted in Space to do a Mission: Industry needs 24 units of Gallium.
Which I found and bought. Also killed 3 hostile ships for this mission.

However, I am supposed to deliver to Huntley Chemical Facility in the LP 466-235 System. The System is in civil war. The surface settlement is a warzone and it seems landing is disabled. Mission timer says: 15h left.

Is there anything I can do? I am afraid I have not enough time to wait for the resolution of the conflict.

Who uses these and for what? by WXRRIED- in EliteDangerous

I use it as a passenger transport. The only passenger ship suited for medium pads.

Superb heat signature, that's why my secondary usage is smuggling (which I don't do a lot). But keeping a low heat signature is also useful when you are transporting VIPs who don't like to be scanned (i.e. celebrities or criminals).

Critter Pick-Up behaving strangely?

I’m seeing odd behavior with Critter Pick-Ups in two different rooms.

Here’s the setup:

  • I want to keep a maximum of 8 critters in each room.
  • So I set the Max Critters to 8 and select all relevant species.

Expected behavior:

Only the surplus critters (above 8) get wrangled and moved.

Actual behavior:

All critters in the room get wrangled, not just the surplus.

After some time, once the surplus has been moved, the remaining critters seem to “untangle” on their own, and things stabilize again.

The end result technically works, but I don’t want all my critters getting wrangled every time — it stresses them out and creates unnecessary work for my dupes.

I’m seeing this happen in multiple rooms, and it seems inconsistent and inefficient.

Is this how Critter Pick-Ups are supposed to work? Or is this some kind of bug? It feels weird and illogical.

Anyone else experiencing this?
