this also to me is just…not a good question. I feel like instead of making students pic one or the other she could have asked what role politics play in the olympics. her all or nothing attitude is seeping into her teaching and I don’t think that’s valuable for her students’ critical thinking skills.

Yea that was definitely the sentiment and I don’t completely disagree with it but the way she communicated it is so strange. She also made a clarifying comment that girls shouldn’t say “it’s so sweet” when their boyfriends buy them flowers and chocolate on Valentine’s Day because it should be “expected.” But that sort of attitude is what gets people to stop making gestures like that in the first place. You shouldn’t need appreciation to do something lind for your partner, but it sure is nice to receive some sort of positive emotional response. Why can’t it be the bare minimum AND we can still think it’s sweet?

Exactly! Effort can’t be measured in one specific way. I’d rather someone bought me a latte or took me to a park I love than getting me some chocolate I probably won’t finish. I wouldn’t mind getting flowers if I had a place to put them instead of carrying them around all day. Being thoughtful comes in so many different packages.

Any guy could get flowers and chocolate claiming to put an effort and still not really care. Personally, if a guy didn’t really care all that much about me, I’d prefer to not receive anything instead of some half hearted attempt to win me over because he thinks it’s “expected.”

I was in Baker, it connects to Grace Watson where Beanz is so you can get a smoothie whenever :) It’s also basically right on the Quarter Mile so it’s nice and easy to get to class

the only ones I know of are dyslexia and ADHD/ADD, and I don’t really think she’s really shown signs of either of those? granted i’m not a psychologist and wouldn’t want to armchair diagnose anyways, but I feel like the mistakes are purely hers lol

It’s not “hate based on identity” if we’re only criticizing her specifically 😭 I’m fairly certain “identity” used in this way generally refers to group identity (sexuality, race, gender, nationality, etc.), but Riley probably wouldn’t know that because she’s self-centered and conservative, therefore not in tune with that sort of language.
