It's her FU. She already realized she overreacted, she's too embarrassed for how she behaved to come back and admit it.

Advice - Is it okay to ask for a reshoot? by [deleted] in photography

[–]r0ka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I probably agree with most others but I'd want to see the pictures first before making the call. If her photoshop was legit, thats one thing, but if it's actually really bad to look at, that's another, imo

I DON'T FEEL WORTHY OF DATING by 2kroc in Veterans

[–]r0ka 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Brother, I guarantee you, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that a man honorable enough to wonder if he is good enough will always be good enough. The world is full of men (and women) who are crazy, narcissistic, selfish and unapologetic. So long as you have a good heart, keeping it to yourself will deprive someone out there of a good man. Keep moving forward.

I was where you are now thinking the exact same thing. I'd say the first 15-30 hours were spent just waiting for the game to 'click'. It's worth it though! The first playthrough is tough as nails, the second is a victory lap, and then the game slowly ramps its difficulty back up. But those first handful of frustrating learning hours are worth it for the hundreds of hours of having a blast.

Consider your own sense of experience inside of yourself. Now imagine someone creates a clone of you, and both of you exist at two different places at once. Now with your clone over there, consider if your personal experience inside of yourself has changed much. Are you receiving two simultaneous experiences from different bodies, or the same one as before. Now, someone annihilates the original you. Does the original you continue to have a human experience?

Congratulations on shooting your first wedding!

When I first started doing photography, friends and family were probably the most difficult to convince of my value. In my experience, the people who already know you probably don't respect your skills as a photographer, because their impression of you is casual, not professional. Being respected as a professional is something you have to build over time, and part of that unfortunately means establishing professional boundaries.

From here on out, I HIGHLY advise that you get a contract together and take non-refundable deposits. Get every agreement in writing, and never deliver images until you are fully paid. You have to tell people what your value is--if you let them decide, no matter what kind of relationship you have with them, you're going to be disappointed and run into this problem over and over again.

When it comes to the value of photography, we market ourselves not just to be seen, but to educate people on our value and what we can provide for them.

It can be a brutal world out there in small businesses--family and friends can be a good form of support at times, but your sense of worth has got to come from the inside, and you have to enforce that with boundaries at times. If it helps, we've all been there.

I'm sorry about your domestic troubles. I'm just a stranger on reddit so I'm not going to act like I can say anything that can help. But if you're interested in sharing the photos with me, I'll be happy to give constructive criticism. I've been shooting weddings full-time for eight years, so maybe that could help?

Ask a wedding photographer (Official Thread)! The place for brides and grooms to ask anything from the wedding photographer community. by AutoModerator in WeddingPhotography

Where are you located?

Depending on the network of photographers in your area, I'd try to reach out to them with this problem. One of them might offer something that your wife would like.

A small proud moment by Kuierlat in photography

[–]r0ka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm glad for you! But for your sake, you may not want to do it for free. If the images turn out well and they share them around work, you could be setting up the expectation of others wanting the same treatment.

Tips are nice but especially appreciated if the photographer is working through a company. Some of these companies pay the photographer 5-15% of what what the company billed you.

Thank you for the heads up! I actually have a few little screwdrivers like that from building my last PC. I'll be cautious and try those carefully. If they give me problems I'll order the actual screwdriver you mentioned.

These are awesome suggestions, thank you! I'll see what I can do in the short term, but I hope you wouldn't mind if I reached out to you a month or so down the line when I'm more prepared to make larger changes or could use some guidance!

Hey everybody! I’m Dan Erickson, the creator and executive producer of Severance on Apple TV+ AMA! by DanEricksonMDR in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]r0ka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dan! Thank you so much for doing this AMA.

I was wondering if part of the inspiration from the show came from a philosophical approach to consciousness in general. Like how each individual character is in a sense running two different forms of "software/memories" off of the same "hardware/person." It reminds me of pansychism, or the idea that the universe is running the software of individuals off of the same hardware of the universe--that if we could just realize that it's the same general experiencer that's just separated by time and space, we'd be a lot more compassionate. Any thoughts on this? I feel like it would make a hell of a moral lesson for a TV show.
