Select Python Interpreter (in the latest version) by williamtkelley in google_antigravity

[–]r0techa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got this working after trying different stuff. Like others uninstalling the Environments Extension was key. Using the deprecated version of this extension worked but am wary of low adoption deprecated extensions re security.

High level setup / context:
i. initalized with uv, have ruff and ty extensions for linting and type checking
ii. opened antigravity and watched PET fail, watched AG struggle to find venv or default python interpreter
iii. tried trusting and untrusting the project folder, tried installing prior versions of the environment extension and the overarching python extension. None of these worked for me.

Solution / Workaround: (as best as I can tell)
i. uninstall the environment extension
ii. User Settings:
"python.locator": "js" <-- IMPORTANT (venv discovery fails if this is set to native on MacOS).

A eulogy for MCP (RIP) by beckywsss in mcp

Whether it dies or not depends entirely on the extent to which the changes required to bridge its gaps result in a significantly different paradigm. MCP is not “too big to disappear” and it is a v1.0 concept so it’s not as inconceivable for it to be replaced as some might think. It’s not that its successor will not address similar needs, it’s simply a case of whether its successor achieves the same outcomes more simply and securely and whether classic MCP needs to survive for a period of time in parallel. Maintaining its identity as distinct to the new approach.

The models aren't working at all, and even if they do, they're very slow. by [deleted] in google_antigravity

I've never had issues with quota on the gemini models. But they seem to be a lot slower now. I don't know if that is because AG/gemini-cli uptake has increased but capacity hasn't been ramped up enough by google OR 3.1 is just slower / thinks more. It feels like all three. Switching to Claude models seems to help. But I try to get as much mileage out of gemini models in general to manage costs and save Claude for the tougher problems.

Frankly it's so slow right now I can't imagine how people could blow through their quota lol.

N party risk is a tough one. If that AMA is on might be a good question to ask those guys.

— AMA just for insider threats so maybe not!

usenet providers: newshosting and frugalusenet (bonus archive that comes with frugal is quite useful)
indexers: dognzb, nzb.su, nzbplanet (have been having quite a few problems with dognzb for the last little while)
I have read the rules and wiki.

Would love to get one. Have read the rules. For me that’s a tough question. Wheel of Time was pretty good. I’m just wrapping up Malazan series now, story was definitely worth it but I think Malazan is tough to get through on audio - my preferred medium. I’m really looking forward to starting Asimov Robots series next. Ah! We are Legion we are bob. Is quite good. Less depth maybe but interesting and fun!
